Untitled[edit]

No buzzers of death or exploding furniture? What about the other games? That one where they get into a booth and pieces of paper with letters blow around them. DooMDrat 09:21, 18 February 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Add as you see fit. I can't remember the names or enough about most of the games, since my family was usually laughing too loudly to actually hear most of the show, but there's no reason not to add more things in. Person who added the Bronwyn Bishop bit here, just trying to think of what else there is to say about the show. Probably a mention of Good News Weekend back in the ABC days and a bit more on the transition to Ten, maybe including the fact that having a 1 hour show plus Good News Week Nite Lite was too much work and probably contributed to the show's end. Also, the Have I Got News For You entry wrongly names Weekend as being on Ten so someone might want to fix that up.

Blow up your pants[edit]

In the article, it says that 26 pieces of A4 paper (one with each letter of the alphabet) are put into the "sound-proof booth". This was proven untrue when Mark Watson went on the show, as both he and the woman he was with picked up the same letter (D). I'm assuming you're talking about the section Scattergories. There is already a mention of the non-sound-proof nature of the booth: "... players climb into the cylindrical sound-proof booth (which was no such thing, but did allow McDermott to pretend he couldn't hear the contestant). 26 pieces of A4 paper were circulated with letters on them... Yes, many times the same letter has been picked up, some of the easy to read letters (like "L") can be seen flying past on multiple pieces of paper if that's the letter they want to ask questions about. I think in one of the more recent episodes (within the last 2 or 3 weeks) someone picked up a letter, then picked up another and showed both to the audience. Might have been Mikey Robins, but not 100% sure. SunsetFlare (talk) 11:09, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Clean Up[edit]

I'm glad that this article on Good News Week contains so much information, but at the same time I feel like virtually the entire article is about the older seasons; I think if anyone were to search this article in Wikipedia, they'd want to read a little more about the 2008/current season. I'm not saying we should get rid of all the old information entirely, but I think it's better to try and integrate it all together because at the moment it just seems like there's a whole bunch of info on the old seasons, with random points here and there about 2008. I'll try and do some editing now, I suppose if it doesn't flow very well, someone can just revert it back. SunsetFlare (talk) 14:06, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, I've just done a whole bunch of editing here, I've re-sectioned and moved a few things, and added some information here and there. Merchandise[edit]

It says there is a DVD called "Unseen and Obscene". This isn't the case. Unseen and Obscene was only released on VHS, and has never been re-released on DVD (as yet). Also, there are 2 CDs. The first one is Paul McDermott Unplugged: The Good News Week Tapes Vol 1, and the second one is Live Songs from Good News Week - The Good News Week Tapes Vol 2. Change of page title[edit]

As the show has been renamed to "Good News World" I put forward that this page should be retitled as such, with a note in the first sentence "(previously Good News Week)". This is assuming that it really is a renaming and not a spinoff/replacement show.   • Disagree. The current title should remain. Have I Got News For You[edit]
