I don't want to start another edit war regarding Mother Teresa, but it appears that there is a scholarly debate concerning her ethnicity. I thought it best to note that in order to avoid having this page go into an NPOV disputed or accuracy disputed status. 209.149.235.254 16:55, 22 Feb 2004 (UTC)

In the ordeal of demolishing everything Albanian, now they stopped at Mother Teresa. According to an Albanian writer called Aurel Plasari (he is Vlach I think, and well known in Albania), he had a discussion with the leader of the Vlach community in Skopje, who told him that the place where Bojaxhi family was living was called "Vlacha Mahalla". This is the basis of the claim.
There are a lot of responses to that. I don't want to list all either, but the main factor that these claims are not considering is that Kole Bojaxhi (not Nicola, but Kole) was an Albanian Catholic originally from Prizren area, they were merchants and moved later to Skopje. They were not really from Skopje, even less from "Vlacha Mahalla". If I move to Brooklyn, it doesn't mean that I am of Jewish origin. There are so many other facts: Bojaxhi kin in Prizren, Gonxhes photos in traditional Prizren costume, Bojaxhis as teachers in Janjevo, Albanian National Awakening funds records where Kole contributed, Albanian Catholic Cathedral in Skopje where Kole contributed and shows up in the opening ceremony photos, monographs based on Gonxhe's brother Lazer memories, baptism records in the Catholic church, Marubi photo-archives, etc, etc.
Without mentioning what she said for herself.
With all the respect for Vlach peole, you got this wrong. Vlachs have so many prominent figures in Albanian history which are not listed here i.e Asdreni, Mihal Grameno, Babe Dude Karbunara, Fatos Nano, Edvin Rama, etj. For some it is difficult to find references, for some they might be found.Mondiad (talk) 03:59, 27 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Bellu family, emigrating from martyrized Moscopole, offered several Wallachian statemen and one Romanian Prime Minister (conservative);

I can't find any reference on this. There's no "Bellu" in the List of Prime Ministers of Romania. Bogdan | Talk 14:53, 2 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Neofitos Doukas was not an Aromanian and not a greek politician. He was from the greek village of Ano Soudena ( now Ano Pedina) and a philologist and scholar of anchient greek.

Michael Dukakis, the famous American politician and US presidential candidate has a family tree which goes into Northen Greece, from a Aromanian family. The grand parents of Mr. Dukakis where Aromanian-speaking "Greeks". I think it's wothy to put Mr. Dukakis into your List of Aromanian Personalities ! Thanks.

I wish to add this beautiful Vlach song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrzWbsbc-GI Gospe (talk) 04:35, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I guess you could add it to the external links section of Aromanian language or Toše Proeski. BalkanFever 04:56, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

On what basis?[edit]

On what basis has this list been made? There are no references at all. Some are obviously incorrect. Needs serious clean-up. To start with I will add some citation needed tags.--Mycomp (talk) 05:07, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Halep[edit]

Review of reference to her being Aromanian does not confirm that she is; simply that her family lived in an Aromanian region of Romania. Added reference.Mwinog2777 (talk) 18:49, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
