Merge with Antarctic Treaty System ? --Ann O'nyme 07:50, 22 Aug 2004 (UTC)

I think Government of Antarctica should be definitively merged with Antarctic Treaty System because the content between these two articles is already now highly redundant (Government of Antarctica containing most of the information Antarctic Treaty System contains but not vice versa). The title of the arcticle Antarctic Treaty System is better, but the content of the article Government of Antarctica is much better, so we should copy the additional content of Government of Antarctica into the article Antarctic Treaty System and then delete Government of Antarctica. -- Citylover 11:17, 10 September 2005 (UTC).[reply]
I redirected this page here (Government of Antarctica) to Antarctic Treaty System after having previously redirected all remaining relevant Wikilinks from Government of Antarctica away to Antarctic Treaty System. I also suggest that this article here (Government of Antarctica) is deleted completely. -- Citylover 13:50, 10 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Overlapping Claims[edit]

According to the Adélie Land article and the map on this page the Australian claim encompasses the French claim. I have updated the article to reflect this. Robertbrockway 18:21, May 19 2005 (UTC)

Penguin Government (humor)[edit]

I know it is silly, but I sometimes wonder why can't we just let the penguins rule Antartica? After all, there are more penguins in Anartica than humans.--Bushido Hacks 16:18, 6 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Not convenient. The president of Argentina, Nestor Kirchner, is called populay "el pinguino" (the penguin). I think it's better to say "in antarctica there is little government" and let it die –Argentino 18:57, 7 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Westarctica[edit]

The land from 90 degrees west to 150 degrees west has been claimed by The Grand Duchy of Westarctica. (see http://www.westarctica.com/index.html)

Italy: Area between the Vatican and Rome[edit]

I think there is an area in Italy between the Vatican and Rome that is not claimed by either country. --Anon 10:48, 22 Aug 2004 EST

  • No and I think it is perfectly fine that the Vatican does not have a claim of Anartica. The penguins are not living in a world of sin and do not need the constant badgering of a hypocritical ideology (i.e.: monotheistic religions (Christianity, Islam, and Judaism) telling them what to do. --Bushido Hacks 06:18, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
