Intelligence[edit]

I would like to disambiguate here. How about Intelligence (psychology) vs. "intelligence" as in "military intelligence". Can anyone come up with some good disambiguating topic names for these two things?

I came up with intelligence (trait) and intelligence (information gathering). Olathe 11:33, 11 Mar 2004 (UTC)

An [older version] of this page listed "intelligent" as a synonym for "intellectual". This was removed a year ago, by someone who said they couldn't "confirm" this meaning of the word. I believe it is the Russian singular of the word intelligentsia - but only the plural form of the word entered English. Mporter 15:51, 7 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I see that this disambiguation page started quite a while ago. Meanwhile, many related articles about intelligence in the sense of "military intelligence" and intelligence in the sense of artificial intelligence or in the sense of what psychologists study have been added to Wikipedia. You may find it helpful while reading or editing articles to look at a bibliography of Intelligence Citations, posted for the use of all Wikipedians who have occasion to edit articles on human intelligence and related issues. I happen to have circulating access to a huge academic research library at a university with an active research program in these issues (and to another library that is one of the ten largest public library systems in the United States) and have been researching these issues since 1989. You are welcome to use these citations for your own research. You can help other Wikipedians by suggesting new sources through comments on that page. Intelligent circuitry[edit]

There is the notion of intelligence in the context of electronic circuitry, with the general meaning of the term being that an "intelligent" circuit or device is one that has its own processing (CPU) power. Examples would be intelligent terminals or intelligent circuit breakers, and many other things. We probably should at least mention or define this kind of "intelligence" somewhere on this page?
