the phrase "Antebellum South" approximately encompasses the period known as Reconstruction in the United States. Huh? Reconstruction was roughly 1865-1877; "Antebellum" means "before the war" i.e. before 1861. -- Arwel (talk) 16:37, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Early example[edit]

Removed the opinion on how both Sassanid empire and Byzantine empire were exhausted during Arab conquest. This is factually incorrect. Ex-Yugoslav conflicts?[edit]

Most English speakers would presumably pronounce it with the English pronounciation of "status quo" followed by the English pronunciation of "antebellum". More authentic Latin pronunciations are known, if you care about such... AnonMoos (talk) 22:10, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
