Untitled[edit]

This film is quite complex, especially considering the D'Amour character and the merging of the Noir and contemporary Horror styles. I plan to add alot to this entry in the near future.

Barker used multiple sources for this movie. He may have based it on "The Last Illusion", but the scene where all the cult members sink into the mud is from "Skins of the Fathers", an earlier story that he wrote. The 'Swann' character was the most annoying whiner in the history of film.

  • Noir and horror...so Barker did something completely unique if we disregard Angel Heart and Cast a Deadly Spell, etc.?71.189.237.68 (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 15:21, 15 October 2008 (UTC).[reply]
Actually, I think móst works by writer HP Lovecraft can be considered a fusion between Noir and Horror, but that's probably where the word "resurrect" from the article comes in. It's not a new thing, but Barker tried to bring it back. Cyanid (talk) 17:21, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Popular"??[edit]

I'm sorry, but shouldn't popular culture include culture that is popular? And, in the absence of culture that is popular, should the section labeled "Popular Culture" be subtracted? In the least, should it be titled "Allusory Inspiration" if we are being nice, or "Nobodies piggybacking on the works of somebody" if we are being honest?
