"The company then assisted in the migration of new settlers, bringing them to the area by means of a boat on Lake Ontario, which the company also owned."

Do you mean they owned the boat or Lake Ontario? --Dhodges 20:37, 27 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Questions on Dates - Some clarification from source documents required[edit]

Questions about dates for Galt and Widder lead to brief review of "Dictionary of Candian Biography Online" (cited). Deeper investigation needed. Questions still exist as to Galt's position as "superintendent" vs "commissioner", and the overlap with the role of secretary.

Also image on Frederick Widder article mentions WILLIAM BENJAMIN ROBINSON, M.P. as a second commissioner appointed the same time as Widder was appointed first Commissioner (not sure if first/second is ranking or sequence) around the time when Canada Company's offices were moving to Toronto around Dec 31/1852 (according to the poster). Robinson isn't mentioned anywhere in the article, but he could just be an unimportant player in a long line of subsequent commissioners. -- Who R you? (talk) 10:07, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
