Is it appropriate to describe Staff and Ticket safeworking, and on-board conductors as being specific to the VR era when both are still in place in Victoria? (staff and ticketing operates on parts of the Hurstbridge line, possibly others, and V/Line and Stony Point services still have conductors.) 203.45.12.120 17:59, 17 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Clerk[edit]

Curves?[edit]

What is the radius of the sharp curve on this and the other three Victoria Narrow Gauge lines? Tabletop (talk) 11:28, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The sharpest curves on the PB railway were 3 chains or 198 feet radius (I believe curves at the site of the landslide may now be sharper), however the sharpest curves on any VRNG line were 2 chains, or 132 feet radius. --Michael Johnson (talk) 00:50, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Robert Whitehead[edit]

I'm surprised there is no mention of Robert Whitehead in the article. While it is clearly a shameful incident that does not reflect well on the railway, it is a major news item directly connected to the railway. This has been covered extensively in the press in Australia and around the world. It seems relevant to the article, as it is intertwined with the history of the railway's preservation. Thoughts? I disagree, even though there is a mention now, I don't see the need. There have been many major news items directly connected to the railway over the years and many individuals who have had a major impact on the railway (mostly for the good), but most of these aren't individually covered by the article, so why should one very negative incident by covered when many very good ones aren't? Merge minor stations?[edit]
