Typo Correction Request[edit]

Under the telivision appearances, it states that he appeared "2 epiaodes" of Double Dare. This should be corrected to "2 episodes".

Semi-protected edit request on 5 October 2020[edit]

I know another IP user made this same request several months ago, I thought I would try. Anyways, the term “voice actor” should be removed from his occupation section in the infobox and his n the first sentence of the article, as shown: " is an American actor, voice actor, singer, songwriter, and musician" to "is an American actor, singer, songwriter, and musician". Because “voice acting” is a subset of “acting”. 2600:1000:B045:5503:C585:1133:6C4A:70B8 (talk) 23:50, 5 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Marriage[edit]

In 2020 Drake Bell became married to Janet Von Shmeling. Fans have noticed rings on both of their fingers. Lolahlou (talk) 22:04, 25 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not done - Do you have a reliable source for this? If so, please provide one and it can be included. I did a quick search just now and I couldn't find a reliable source stating they are married. Fan speculation about rings, etc., isn't enough for inclusion under Wikipedia's policies and guidelines (see WP:V and WP:BLP). Thank you. Aoi (青い) (talk) 22:08, 25 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Mexican citizenship?[edit]

The article says he posted a "Mexican identification card". It's more than that he posted a credencial para votar- which allows individuals to vote and is only available to citizens. See the government page: https://consulmex.sre.gob.mx/austin/index.php/documentacion/credencial-para-votar-en-el-extranjero

For him to have been naturalized, he would have had to reside in Mexico for 5 years. See Mexican nationality law — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:387:0:9A2:0:0:0:44 (talk) 22:46, 25 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

[1] This image is photoshopped. The pictures of IDs are not degraded in the borders, it is missing the frontal signature, the CURP wouldn't be "CAMD860627HDFNLR01" as he is not from Mexico City, and I highly doubt Drake went to Tultitlán out of all places in Mexico. June 2021 Arrest[edit]

Add to 5.1 Legal Issues:

On June 3, 2021, it was announced that Bell had been arrested and charged for attempted child endangerment and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles for an incident occurring in December 2017. Bell is expected to plead no contest in a pretrial hearing on June 23, 2021.

"Accusation" should be changed to "conviction" in the heading "Sexual assault accusation and attempted endangering of children." Drake Bell pleaded guilty to the charges, so they are no longer "accusations," but established facts.

Likewise, the term "accuser" is used in this article. It should be changed to "victim," since the case has been finalised and the perpetrator has admitted guilt. Sixpigeons (talk) 08:45, 16 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Just adding that Bell was convicted of "attempted endangering [of] children and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles". He was not convicted of sexual assault; according to the article text, the victim did not publicly accuse Bell of sexual assault until his sentencing hearing, after he pled guilty to the two aforementioned offenses. As the heading reads now, it's not eloquently stated but it's accurate. I'd favor changing the heading to something like "Conviction for attempted endangering of children and sexual assault accusation" to make it clear what he was convicted of (or even "Sexual assault accusation and conviction for attempted endangering of children" would be an improvement).
As for whether the term "accuser" should be changed to "victim," I support changing the third use of the term in the paragraph since the source used to support the statement uses the term "victim" and it's in reference to events taking place after his guilty plea. I'm neutral as to whether the two prior uses of "accuser" in the paragraph should be changed because they refer to the time period prior to his guilty plea so those uses are technically correct, though given his subsequent plea I don't think the use of "victim" is wrong. So, I'm going to change the third "accuser" to "victim" and am going to leave the rest of the paragraph unchanged. However, feel free to revert if you disagree. Does this still need to be in his Wikipedia page? Alleged disappearance reasoning[edit]

Does this still need to be in his Wikipedia page? Temporarily being out of contact doesn't feel like it needs to be mentioned. BeefsteakMaters (talk) 15:41, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Probably should have some discussion about removing it. If it wasn't reported by the police he was missing, probably would think to remove. It might warrant the short bit we have in article now. I removed it from lead and the information from infobox cause that was overkill. WikiVirusC(talk) 22:15, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Colonel Knight Rider: please discuss your addition here some first. New York Daily News, Us Magazine and maybe TMZ could be sources we could use, not WP:PAGESIX/WP:NYPOST. Would prefer to get some consensus before adding this WP:BLP bit in though. WikiVirusC(talk) 22:15, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Child abuse[edit]

In the documentary "quiet on set" Bell talks about being sexually abused whilst 15 by someone working at Nickelodeon. It was reported to the police.

This should be added to the page. 115.188.116.172 (talk) 10:28, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

it's been added Equirax (talk) 16:07, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Should we also mention the abuse by Brian Peck in the lede section?[edit]

IMHO, the 2021 child endangerment plea and the current Nickelodeon/Brian Peck sexual abuse revelations are both "flash" news stories that have generated comparable levels of coverage on a mutual topic of grooming/child abuse. However, we only mention the incriminating story (his guilty plea) in the lede, whilst burying the more 'sympathetic' story about Bell himself being abused and relegating it to a single sentence much later in the article.

Although I am not a fan of Bell for his abhorrent actions, only mentioning one of these stories and not the other strikes me as a WP:NPOV issue. I feel as though we should either mention both in the lede, or mention neither in the lede and then assign each a similar level of coverage in the body of the article.

To that end, as more and more coverage continues to discuss the 2004 abuse case, we should also consider making the Nickelodeon Sexual abuse allegations its own section. I am seeking consensus first before making any edits though, as I acknowledge this is a sensitive topic. FlipandFlopped 19:12, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I vote not mentioning either in the lead but having it be in a dedicated sub-section. Elvisisalive95 (talk) 19:19, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
