Songs from Virtual XI[edit]

"The Nomad", "Dream of Mirrors", and "The Mercenary" were originally written for Virtual XI, according to Adrian Smith in an interview. He said there was a fourth song, but he didn't know which one it was and that Steve Harris did not remember either. Assuming no songs were re-written with Bruce Dickinson, the last one could be "The Fallen Angel" or "The Thin Line Between Love and Hate". Harris denied that "Blood Brothers" was one of them.

- surely it can't be The Fallen Angel, as (following the logic it wasn't a Dickinson-penned tune) Adrian Smith co-wrote that?

Speculation of which song it could be has been removed. Seeing as we don't know how complete many of the "left-overs" were before being brought to the next album, we don't know which songs could fulfil this criteria as Bruce or Adrian could have easily made some additions to the original idea and earned a credit.--Nerdtrap (talk) 12:01, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Funny Games U.S.[edit]

This page here and the Funny Games U.S. article say, Brave New World is featured in the movie. To my knowledge this is wrong. There's also no separate soundtrack sold for Funny Games, afaik. Talking At The End Of The Album[edit]

There's a small description about what is heard at the end of this album. But I don't think it's completely, if at all, correct. I'll copy it here, please see my notes about it:

At the end of the song "The Thin Line Between Love and Hate", there's a recording of a small conversation at the studio.

Nicko: "Awww, I fucking missed it" (referring to missing cymbal he was supposed to hit at the end) - [We can't be sure if he's referring to missing a cymbal, I've always thought that might be an option, but who knows he was referring to playing with 'Iron Maiden' or something like that.] Kevin Shirley (on the talkback microphone, laughing): "I see that was taped." - [Not sure if that's correct, but could be.] (laughter from the band) Nicko: "Fucking missed it" - [But this is definitely said by the same second responding person, which you can easily hear by the same thinner sound of the recording and the same voice.] (more laughter)

Maybe this is a silly thing, but better correct than having it described incorrectly.

Nomad not played live?[edit]

I'm 90% sure that The Nomad was played live as I recall Nicko McBrain describing it essentially as a real ball ache. What's the source on it not being played on tour? Agent Blightsoot 19:00, 20 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Genre[edit]

Why isn't this album along with the 3 others listed as Progressive Metal as well, they clearly are? Why on Wikipedia are we so afraid of adding different genres that properly describe the music? We just keep it safe by listing such a vague genre, when in reality, saying this album is just heavy metal is quite innacurate.
