The comment here that "billion dollar baby" refers to movie "devil-children" is interesting and does make sense in relation to the song "Generation Landslide." However, in looking over the lyrics to the song "Billion Dollar Babies" I get the impression that in that song, it is about a person who buys a doll in a store and does, um, things with it that aren't quite normal. (dancing in the attic, if I'm too rough . . . ) I always figured the Billion Dollar Baby was the brand name of some doll for little girls that this weirdo purchases for his own deviant needs. He purchases it in a "dimestore" which I assume is a place where cheap baubles are sold. The Billion Dollar Baby is not a big brand name like Barbie but some cheap knock off. But it is meant to be a little girl's doll.


The only part of the song that I find doesn't fit with my interpretation are the lines "reckless like a gambler, million dollar maybe, fighting like a dog that's been infected by the rabies."

Alice has stated many times that the 'Billion Dollar Babies' of the title song were the band themselves, i.e. money-reckless snot nosed brats. --77.249.207.50 (talk) 23:28, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Heres a bunch of info in this article that I think, with someone who has more knowledge on the info, can be used in the article.

  • Alice and the group considered themselves Billion Dollar Babies as the line in Generation Landslide contests: "And I laugh to myself at the men and the ladies/ Who never conceived of us Billion Dollar Babies!" They were at the peak of their career, where middle America considered them a threat to their children.

  • The name Billion Dollar Babies refers to horror movies where the main evil character is a baby or child. (See: Devil-child movies).

  • The name was used by the original members (sans vocalist Alice Cooper) as a band name after the original Alice Cooper band split in 1974.
  • The Quadraphonic LP release varies not only in the mix, but in song versions used throughout the album. Some of these alternate versions also appear on the DVD-A release.
  • The title track is a playable track in the Xbox 360 version of the game Guitar Hero II.
  • In the Xbox 360 Guitar Hero II instruction manual Billion Dollar Babies is incorrectly labeled as Million Dollar Babies.
  • The song "Elected" was covered in 1997 by Iron Maiden lead singer and Heavy Metal icon Bruce Dickinson for the Mr. Bean movie, Bean
  • Glen Buxton did not play guitar on this record, according to drummer Neal Smith. Most of his sections were recorded by Mick Mashbir and Bob Dolan.
No, according to Michael Bruce he's on there, here and there. HOWEVER, the main lead guitar lines of this album were not done by him. It's obvious where Dick Wagner's and Steve Hunter's guitar is going on, such as the lead on the title track.   • Billion Dollar Babies was the name of the band formed by the remaining members of the original Alice Cooper Group. They released an album entitled Battle Axe. Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway, Neal Smith, Bob Dolan and Mick Mashbir were the members.
  • The song Billion Dollar Babies was used on The Simpsons episode Monty Can't Buy Me Love.

Donovan[edit]

Hello, Hooray[edit]

The assertion in the article that Rolf Kempf is an alias used by producer-songwriter Kim Fowley seems bogus, and needs to be backed up. It appears that Rolf Kempf is a real songwriter.
