WNBA?[edit]

ok, lets just be honest and change the wording of thay header, the wnba is NOT failing because of lack of promotion, there are several reasons completley unrelated to promotion, and all the promotion in the world wouldnt change the leagues sucess

error on page[edit]

There is an error on this page and I don't know how to go about fixing it.

First of it states that Ty Law played for the Toronto Phantoms before playing for the Patriots then Bills. The problem is that the Ty Law that played for the Phantoms is a different Ty Law then the one who currentl plays for the Patriots. Also the Ty Law that is currently in the NFL has spent his whole career with the Patriots and has never played for the Bills. Current Bills cornerback Lawyer Milloy used to play for the Patriots but he never played in the AFL.

Is this still really a stub?[edit]

This is certainly a stub. First, let me point out that this franchise existed for 6 years (1997-2002), not 2 years.

But, more importantly, the Arena Football League is the top league in its sport in the world. The Arena game is different enough from the big-field (American and Canadian) versions in the skills that it requires for it to be thought of as a different game.

I like the way rugby fans use the word "code", meaning a set of rules. Rugby league and rugby union are said to be different "codes". It is also said that, in the grand world of football, the rugby union and rugby league codes can be distinguished from the "association" code (soccer).

That is terminology that we in North America should use more often: American code, Canadian code, and Arena code.

The point in using that language is to acknowledge the reality that all the different codes of football (association, rugby league, rugby union, American, Canadian, and Arena) evolved from the same ancient game. (Of course, in some cases, some of the codes have gone on to cross-influence each other.)

Anyway, on the topic of Arena Football -- the league and its franchises have a rich history, and only a small bit of the history of this particular franchise is described here. I expanded the CityHawks part of the franchise history a bit, but there is much, much more to the story -- and there is a need for tons more information about the latter two incarnations of the franchise (New England Sea Wolves and Toronto Phantoms).
