Found this, [1], wondering if this was just ghost in the shell history turned presumed history. The first page of the result on this are wikipedia and wikipedia mirrors, and none are refed.--Rayc 05:59, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Well, there is a Japanese wikipedia page linked (and also a nonexistent Italian one) but since I don't read Japanese about all I can make out of it is that the same image and some of the dates are similar to the one in the English page. A google search brings up several corroborating sources for the bare bones of the incident. (eg. [3]). My vote is genuine incident, although the exact details aren't yet sourced to my preference.--BlackAndy 06:26, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Whaaaaat!!! The May 15 Incident is a well-documented historical event, during which a prime minister of Japan was assassinated. While some question as to some of the veracity of details mentioned in the article may exist, the issue of whether or not the Incident itself occured is absolutely not in question. --MChew 07:33, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Though it was a sort of prank, it was a good reference to Ghost In The Shell Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG, and I would have to agree, that GITS SAC 2ND GIG should be mentioned somehow in the article, after all, it's probably one of the only pop cultural references to this incident and thus, probably what a large portion of the hits to this page are based on. 17:32, 16 July 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Arkkeeper (talk • contribs)

Hello All, Re last comments regarding User Talk in 2008, I have added a section on Ghost in the Shell, which I hope will be to everyone's liking - please comment, amend, discuss, truncate, expand as necessary. Regarding the event's historicity - I did indeed study this incident in High School history class, and so seeing it in the anime evoked memories.Deepshark (talk) 06:45, 6 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A suggestionː The order of names in Japanese is family name followed by given name. The names in this article are not consistently in either Japanese or English order. I would suggest deciding which way to use for the sake of consistency. I can do this (here and on related pages) if it's OK to do so. On January 1st 2020, a government decree ordained that official documents should follow the Japanese convention for Japanese (and other Asian) people’s names when they are rendered in the Latin alphabet. This is not being enforced everywhere, but might be a factor in deciding which order to use here. SPV (talk) 12:04, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
