Coupling[edit]

I've remoed Coupling, I don't think its a remake of anything. Despite the definate similarity to Freinds (three men and three women who drink coffee) it doesn't qualify as a remake (more like a rip off). And I can't see any similarity between Coupling and Seinfeild at all. Saul Taylor 03:38, 20 Feb 2004 (UTC)

If anything, Coupling should be (absolutely) on the list of British shows remade (disastrously) for the US market. I'll check to make sure it's there. It may have been loosely inspired by the likes of Seinfeld and Friends, but it was in no way a remake of either. On the other hand, Coupling (US) was a direct remake of the UK version, down to most of the scripts - though sanitized for the US market. Sense or nonsense?[edit]

"It is far more common for a successful British show to be remade for an American audience since U.S. citizens are generally less likely to be acquainted with British culture than vice versa." Rich Farmbrough 09:58, 1 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Deal Or No Deal[edit]

I've removed Deal Or No Deal - the British series pre-dates the American series by a few months and both were broadcast two years after the originial Australian series (c.f. Deal or no Deal)

US Television series...[edit]

That name's against guidelines, isn't it?
