You are right and my mistake—I guess the combination of the vandalized article and the pet name ("Harry") in the Lemma threw me off. However, I did not speed-delete the article but merely put up the request. Maikel 16:15, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

Re: Anon or test?

Most of us typically use the {{Test}} and {{Bv}} sequences for all vandals, anonymous or logged-in, but you are welcome to use {{Anon vandal}} as well. The test sequence is especially useful to me because it progresses from "did you mean to do that" to "please stop" to "last warning". They aren't reserved explicitly for logged-in users. Bulletproof vest

Thanks for asking, this is very strange!

1. I have deleted references to two institutions which were said to be currently developing "ultrastrong but ultralight" materials as they were nonencyclopedic and essentially advertising. Lots of institutions everywhere are developing lots of stuff, but noone can know in advance whether their efforts will come to fruition.

2. Those other changes ... are not mine. I didn't throw out the categories nor the references (<ref>), these edits are definitely not mine. This is VERY odd. I can only explain it with a inconsistency in the database. I also didn't change the "the late" bit.

I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. I'm trying to restore a link you posted on the Sybian article, but user Ronz continues to remove it claiming that "Wikipedia is not a how to". What do you think about his reasoning? Copyright policy on external links

Dear Maikel. Thank you for your contribution to All You Zombies (song), but I'm afraid that the link to lyricwiki is not consistent with Wikipedia's copyright policy. When we add links to material on external sites, we must ensure that the site is not violating the creator's copyright. Linking to websites that display copyrighted works is acceptable as long as the website's operator has created or licensed the work. According to a March 2008 notice in their blog, Lyricwiki no longer pursues legal licensing. Like Youtube, it only removes lyrics if a DMCA take-down notice is filed by the artist. Knowingly directing others to a site that violates copyright may be considered contributory infringement. Wikipedia exercises all necessary diligence to ensure that we remain compliant with US copyright law.

If the material is available on a different site that satisfies one of the above conditions, you might want to link to that site instead. Sites such as mtv.com have been gradually increasing the number of lyrics they display legally, with proper compensation to the artists.
