Conflict of interest[edit]

Hey Angeles, welcome to Wikipedia. Just wanted to leave a note that if you have any affiliation with the subjects about which you write, our conflict of interest guidelines ask that you declare the nature of your interest on the related articles' talk pages when you edit. czar 02:53, 16 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I am far from new to Wikipedia. I have declared my affiliation with the project in the past and it has been determined by previous parties that I am not contributing to the articles in a fashion that would be subject to the conflict of interest guidelines, so I suggest you start reading these policies properly instead of seeing what you want to see and jumping to harassment. I myself have not done anything other than minor edits that did not influence the content of the articles at all, the reverts I have made have been in line with Wikipedia policy which require adequate discussion before acting on a deletion. It's not out of line (or "harassment") to leave a brief note reminding someone of our COI guidelines, nor is it crazy to think that someone who has made less than 100 edits over the course of a decade may not be aware of the guideline. Czar hasn't done anything wrong, and honestly, this is one of the main reasons we have the COI guidelines - people take things so personally when getting critiqued about something they have close ties to. Please, focus less on Czar, and more on providing sources that satisfy the GNG. (I wouldn't stop yet, many of the sources listed thus far are obscure blogs or user-generated...) WP:DCOI - If you become involved in an article where you have a general COI (including a financial COI) that does not involve being paid to edit Wikipedia, you may do two things: first, place the "connected contributor" template at the top of affected talk pages. Second, you may disclose the COI on your Userpage. You may either make a personal statement to this effect or you may insert a specially designed "userbox" template, "UserboxCOI" - User:Czar was already well aware of who I was because I already made a personal statement on my user page as per the guidelines. Note that neither of these are mandatory (wording says "you may do two things"). I suggest you guys stop WP:HOUNDING me on my talk page for something that was already done well before this discussion even started.

I'm sorry you feel hounded or harassed by simple notifications. That's not their intention. I just meant to inform you that Czar was nowhere near the threshold of having action taken against him for harassment or hounding, so you may as well focus on the real issue at hand, the article itself.
