Small Change[edit]

I have made a small change which can be constued as contradictory to the previous version. My source for claiming that Dion Boucicault was educated at University College School is The Templeman Library. Thanks Ramw2 16:58, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

University of Kent[edit]

I'd like to suggest an external link to http://library.kent.ac.uk/library/special/html/specoll/boucal.htm . This is the frontpage of the Dion Boucicault Collections pages of the University of Kent Special Collections. The pages mostly describe documents held by Special Collections, but also include a list of Boucicault's plays, a brief biography, and family tree. There is also a good deal of image material on these pages.

Boursiquot/Boucicault surname[edit]

The article doesn't say where he got this surname, as it seems it wasn't from his father. Does anybody know? 79.97.154.238 (talk) 01:26, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Presumably from his mother's husband, who would be his presumptive legal father. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.111.234.111 (talk) 20:50, 3 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Flying Scud[edit]

Are there any details on his play Flying Scud, which contains the earliest attestation of the English slang phase "to see a man about a dog"? — Sasuke Sarutobi (push to talk) 16:53, 25 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, according to this biography, Boucicault began his career as an actor under the name Lee Moreton in Cheltenham. Someone might be willing to correct the spelling and even replace the reference. Thank you for your time. Lotje (talk) 11:33, 2 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
