Hitler[edit]

I believe there is a photograph, either in the Sgt. Pepper CD booklet or in the Anthology book, that shows the Hitler cutout standing on the sidelines while they were taking the picture, contradicting the article which says he was in there, but hiding behind the band. Bobby Charlton[edit]

I belive sir Bobby Charlton, former Manchester United and England'66 national team player, was meant to be included in the cover. Finally he refuse to be in it 'cause he wasn't "a lonely heart". I can't find a reference in the web, though.

Tin-Tan[edit]

I have moved the following snippet from the "People who were originally intended for the front cover but were ultimately excluded" section of the article to here:

  • Tin-Tan - Mexican actor. He requested that Ringo swap him for a Mexican Tree of Life, and he did.[1]

The cited source (see References below) appears to be a Spanish language blog - which I doubt is a reliable source for this kind of claim on en-wiki. Personally, I doubt it would be reliable if it was Ringo Starr's own English language blog making the claim, but that's completely beside the point...

In the past, I have added a "citation needed" to this very item in the article, and in the past I have deleted the item completely when no such citation was forthcoming... However, this Tin-Tan item always tends to return given enough time, but it is always accompanied by either no citation at all, or by the same Jordi Soler blog reference, and absolutely nothing else.

I am not saying the story is untrue. But I am saying the story is currently unreferenced by a reliable source. And Wikipedia works exclusively with the latter, rather than the former.

So - please can we keep this Tin-Tan claim on this Talk Page, rather than in the article itself, until we have a reliable source that asserts the Tin-Tan claim? Thanks. --DaveG12345 (talk) 01:28, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with DaveG12345. I've read a variety of accounts of the creation of the cover, and none mention Tin-Tan. A blog entry—in any language—is not a reliable source and without one, the claim about Tin-Tan asking Ringo to replace him with a Mexican tree should not be in the article. — John Cardinal (talk) 02:36, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Other props[edit]

There are (at least) two "props" that are clearly visible, and not included in this list. These 2 "clues" feature in the "Paul is dead" controversy:

  • "Bloody" glove — next to Shirley Temple doll (center right)
  • Toy car — white toy car (Matchbox or Corgi?), next to the same doll's right hand (need higher resolution image to see; e.g.:[1])

As an aside, the undeniable placement of these two items has never been satisfactorily explained (as far as I know). According to legend, the glove represents Paul's "bloody driving glove" from his "fatal accident", and the toy car is of the same type that he was driving. The problem with the two items mentioned , is , that they are part of the "Paul Is Dead" conspiracy theory , and not so much based in reality.

  • The "bloody glove" , is a glove covered in red sequins and part of the "cloth grandmother figure" that the Shirley Temple doll is perched on.
  • The so-called "flaming car" , is a "stone figure" , according to the original c.d. release booklet. The "flames" are an optical illusion , caused by the slightly blurry yellow flowers that hang over it. Various , non-used , black and white photos from the session , show quite clearly the item is not any sort of vehicle. 75.104.175.57 (talk) 20:10, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"The Trophy"[edit]

Not sure how to confirm this , having never seen one , but somewhere , I seem to recall "the trophy" - seen between the "L" and "E" in "Beatles" - is an "Ivor Novello Award" , from one of The Beatles personal collections. I won't change the article description , since I'm not 100% on it.
