Tapio Often refered to as 'the forest friend' or 'the gracious god of the woodlands' Tapio is the god of forests and woodlands. He is described has having eyebrows of moss and a beard of lichen. He is also said to be made entirely of trees. In the old times hunters would pray to him before going out to hunt. this might suggest that they thought he would protect them from predators.
