from VfD:

It's possible this guy's notable (I didn't care to try to figure out how many of the "Raymond Changs" on google were him), but if so you'd never know it from this article. Pointless, delete. -R. fiend 19:25, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete. Lots of non-notable people write textbooks. Gamaliel 19:34, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Not notable. --Improv 20:32, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, Wikipedia is not paper, he's written several major textbooks. siroχo 04:13, Oct 14, 2004 (UTC)
Forgot to say, I've expanded it a little bit. Note that Chemisty is a very common textbook. siroχo
    • If he's the one wrote Chemistry, then he's very notable. 132.205.95.64 02:19, 18 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Strongly object[edit]

...to any attempt to delete. While I did not know this individual, professionally, to have been a multi-edition textbook author in the college market for many years, apart from his other services rendered (in research, teaching, and public service) make him a notable individual in the field of chemistry, worthy of a short article. As noted in the discussion above, the content of the article could indeed be improved. But his authorship of the text is sufficient, alone, to keep him here, in an article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:246:C700:9B0:48A6:82D4:5919:3B87 (talk) 18:54, 9 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
