242mph speeding ticket[edit]

Should it be removed? I know, it's original research but there's mention of said speeding ticked anywhere but the Top gear article from where that claim came from, or it's fake or they (Top Gear) confused the speed with the results of the top speed attempts at Nardo. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.224.69.91 (talk) 20:37, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Speed comparison[edit]

Is it or is it not faster than the McLaren F1? The claim on the McLaren F1 page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McLaren_Cars) is that the McLaren F1 is the fastest production car ever made.

Some substantiation needs to be made for both claims in order to properly edit the appropriate page.

Actually, the recently released Bugatti Veyron is now considered the fastest, so many pages will need to be edited. - victorvp (talk)

Depends how you measure the F1. No production F1 ever did 240mph, although a prototype identical except for the lack of a rev limiter did 244 (faster than the CC8S). Fastest now is probably the Veyron, although the SSC Ultimate Aero may beat it. Possibly more importantly, are we sure the photo is actually a CC8S? looks funny to me, but I might be wrong... wimbledon andy 13:16, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I actually thaught the new one the "CCX" was the fastest road legal car.. is it?

No, the Veyron is slightly faster than the CCX, also the photo is a CC8S. The CCR has sharper headlights and the CC has covers, only the CC8S has lights that shape. James086Talk | Contribs 11:55, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Classifications[edit]

In the article the car is described as a 'sports car', should it not be 'super car'?

And Iam sure that a roadster is a car with no roof or side windows, surely this car has a targa top? 86.137.128.165 (talk) 21:34, 20 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

We don't use the classification "supercar" because it is too subjective. swaq 16:56, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Production Car"[edit]

But they only produced 6? How on earth does this count as a production car? Even "limited edition" would be a stretch at a mere 6. This is just silly; I can't believe people cared this much about a car that essentially doesn't exist and never did. 2603:8081:4600:AC47:F9DF:4FDC:7164:A708 (talk) 02:05, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Targa top storage[edit]

Article says the Carrera GT cannot store its targa top in the front trunk, but it can. https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/SKU980GTCOVERS.html
