The discovery of the body of a missing schoolgirl hardly meets global notability requirements necessary for inclusion. This event will have no global impact and it is not the topic of regular news coverage worldwide. The fact that there is an article on the topic does not make it notable enough for inclusion here. I would agree, but most of the people listed are not of a worldwide importance. For example being a football player, baseball player or a gymnast doesn't qualify in my opinion as being a person of international notability. Unfortunately the pages have become devalued for their encyclopedic value thanks to the misuse of some peoples interests. please stop filling these informative pages with insignificant people.

This was removed on the grounds of non-notability. Four consecutive home runs in a Major League Baseball game is a rare event, which makes this game notable IMHO. Please discuss. Darcyj (talk) 00:54, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

On that logic, there would be much less baseball material on Wikipedia, and perhaps nothing at all about Curling or Gaelic Football or other sports peculiar to a particular country or culture. For the most part sports events are limited to social milestones and major world records. This logic wouldn't limit the amount of baseball material on Wikipedia, just in the days of the year pages. See WP:DOY. -- Mufka ^{(u) (t) (c)} 03:05, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

Removed section about woman's suffrage in The Netherlands

The page lists

• The Vereeniging voor Vrouwenkiesrecht achieves its objective of women's suffrage in the Netherlands.

which was probably added because the newspaper Trouw mentioned that, but they later rectified it:

Maar de datum die Trouw hiervoor noemt (18 september 1919) is niet de juiste. Vergeeflijk, want vermoedelijk ontleend aan de ‘Herinneringen van Aletta Jacobs’ (p. 306). Deze formidabele dame was meer van de grote lijn, want in de betreffende passage haalt zij van alles door elkaar. Het wetsvoorstel werd niet, zoals zij schreef, op 18 september 1919 door koningin Wilhelmina bekrachtigd. Dat was al gebeurd op 9 augustus 1919 ‘ten Paleize het Loo’. En de wet van die datum was op 8 september 1919 geplaatst in Staatsblad 1919, nummer 536. Die datum dan maar? Nee, want een wet treedt niet in werking door plaatsing in het Staatsblad. Soms gaan daar jaren overheen. En wie ooit de moeite nam om de parlementaire geschiedenis van het wetsvoorstel-Marchant te lezen weet dat dat aanvankelijk voorzag in inwerkingtreding op 1 januari 1922.
