I changed the lead to read, "These are lists of counties, boroughs, and parishes in the United States of America." I've know people in Louisiana to call organizations when they only include the word "county" on, say, an application. People can get mighty testy, at least in my experience. At any rate, it's not worth an edit war, so if people think it should go, so be it.
