Can someone put up a better picture?[edit]

No offense to Christian Kock, but there are several press photos available from anti.com and epitaph.com. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Usernamefortonyd (talkcontribs) 03:22, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Genre?[edit]

This music has nothing to do with grindcore or powerviolence. This band is some kind of mathcore/screamo/deathcore. Someone please edit the page. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.167.51.228 (talk) 03:24, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

POV[edit]

"To download audio samples of The Locust is one thing, but to get the full impact of the band it is recommended to see them live."

Can this be altered into a less review:ish style?

"Some members formerly played in, of all things, a somewhat well known emo band called Swing Kids."

I'll remove the "of all things" part myself.

"The Locust vehemently boycotts Clear Channel Communications, a monopolistic radio giant that plays nothing but souless commercial music on stations across the States." NPOV? --TheSock 05:52, September 2, 2005 (UTC)

Flight of the Wounded Locust; LP or EP?[edit]

OK, so it's currently down as an album, but I'd always thought it was an EP (I've also seen it called this by Amazon and reviews I've read of it), what does anyone else think? I did some work on its page, and, to keep it easy for me, left it classed as an album for now Edward Nygma 00:23, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I think it is an album, as it has what, 10 tracks? They may be short, but as The Locust's songs are almost always really short, and they have not released anything longer than 21 minutes, it should count. --Janster 22:29, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Should this page have a link to long song titles like this?[edit]

genres[edit]

FAO, the person who is making changes from ip address 216.68.166.46. I realise that 'noisecore' is not the ideal label for the locust but 'metalcore' is a misleading label to give this band. Yes, The Locust is genre-defying but we might have to compromise a little to give a reasonably accurate description. If you really don't think noisecore fits, then i think grindcore would be a closer alternative than metalcore. --Will.law 11:00, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cybergrind my foot. That's a human drumming that way, get over it. I'm cleaning this shit up. Locust for life. Gatesofawesome! 01:23, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh shit, I fucked up the locust info box thing. I removed cybergrind, and status (redundant, 1994-present) and now the coding is fucked. Help?

i say spazz grind

They just been removed from the list of grindcore bands. People can continue arguing what other categories they could fit into (if they source them) but I'm restoring them to the list of grind bands; my two sources are Mudrian's Choosing Death and an article by Satpal Kalsi in Terrorizer 75, In God We Crust. I can find more if you like but it shouldn't be necessary. Blackmetalbaz (talk) 13:44, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I say shit

Eduipment?[edit]

Could anyone try to find and add what kind of instramentation the locust uses, notably the types of synthesizer-like equipement and guitar pedals?

I think this would add a lot to the page.

Thanks. --68.41.43.166 04:05, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Locustpromopic.jpg[edit]

Image:Locustpromopic.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Mathcore?[edit]

The opening sentence of this article indicates that the Locust has the complexity of mathcore. The ref, to Stylus Magazine, doesn't go through; it requires a password. [1]
This might be a recent change to the site. My question is whether anyone has a reliable source describing the Locust as mathcore or as related to mathcore. We've got good sources for powerviolence, grindcore, and noise rock. Aryder779 (talk) 16:06, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I just answered my own question, and found a good source. Aryder779 (talk) 16:09, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
