Immigrants in India[edit]

As per this edit by User:Pitush Puttar, I would like to conversate about the matter whether it should be added with the reference of an "unauthorized" statement of a minister.[1] The given data solely excludes legal migrants, and the "claims" are controversial.

According to a report in BBC Bangla[2], Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju didn't cite any official statistics. According to BBC Bangla, “And from then, the Government of India took for granted that they do not have any accurate data for illegal Bangladeshi immigration in India.” (এবং এরপর থেকে ভারত সরকার স্বীকার করে নিয়েছিল যে ভারতে বাংলাদেশিদের অবৈধ অভিবাসন নিয়ে তাদের কাছে কোন সঠিক তথ্য নেই।)
The data shown different times by different Indian officials are not accepted by the Government of Bangladesh. However, Bangladesh also has no official data for immigrants in India. Furthermore, the claims by several Indian high officials has created controversy and some of them were "motivatedly exaggerated" (as per Samir Guha Roy of ISI).

The article may contain a brief discussion about "Illegal Bangladeshi" controversy, but such unauthorised claimed figures should not be included in the main box with other authorized stat. — Meghmollar2017 (U T C) — 08:35, 12 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
