Untitled[edit]

Surely, White Nancy is the monument but not the hill. Can't wait for somebody to write the White Nancy article as I've always wondered about it. Cutler 23:18, 4 Jan 2004 (UTC)

The "Sea Cadets" Entry[edit]

This section is misplaced and it also does not conform with the guidelines for how to write about UK settlements (Wikipedia:WikiProject UK geography/How to write about settlements.) It needs to be moved to a sub-section within the Culture and Other Activities section for now until a better attempt at structuring the entire article can be made.  DDStretch  (talk) 13:43, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've now moved it, added an internal wiki link, and referenced it. It might still be improved upon, however.  DDStretch  (talk) 13:56, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Happy Valley aka Goldenthal.???[edit]

The article says "Samuel Greg [...] gave Bollington its nickname of the Happy Valley, but in German - Goldenthal." I see two problems here:
a) why a British mill owner, with no German links, would give a German name to a piece of English countryside??
b) Happy Valley does not translate as Goldenthal (or vice versa...)

Town[edit]

It's not really a town is it? It's a parish. Majorly talk 20:09, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fitness4All[edit]

I removed this because it's advertising and if every business in Bolly popped in an entry, it'd read like the Yellow Pages and would be useless to readers. See Tragedy of the commons for further guidance. BollyDave talk 20:09, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That's a fair point, Wikipedia isn't free advertising space. Nev1 (talk) 17:34, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
