Untitled[edit]

I recognize that the fact that this article has a plural title differentiates it from raisin, but should there be something in the title to clarify that this is a South Park episode? Ed Cormany 23:30, 31 Dec 2003 (UTC)

Why does this warrant an enitre article? Chris5369 21:18 (EST), 1 Jan 2005

Dr. Mephesto told Stan to play Peter Gabriel, not bebe. --SuperDude 00:02, 4 Jun 2005 (UTC)

No, it was Bebe. Lachatdelarue (talk) 20:49, 4 Jun 2005 (UTC)

"The subplot of Butters falling in love with a Raisins waitress is based off of many films with a similar plot, such as Moulin Rouge! and Pretty Woman." I don't agree with that. I think the subplot simply pokes fun at the flirtation of Hooters girls in order to gain money, along with reflecting Butters' innocence. Hookers and waitresses aren't really that similar. -Josh, October 19, 2005, 9:21 AM EST

If you've been a loyal South Park viewer, you'll know that, according to James Taylor: a prostitute is like any other woman, they all trade something for sex, and they do it well. Kelvie 08:38, 25 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Do any of you know the song title of the music that the goth kids listen to in the room when they are reading the poetry? Its really catchy, I'd like to know the band and song title, if it wasnt made by the south park crew, so i can go download it, THANKS Powerpsi

One of the trivia says Cartman has little to no intrest in girls, which is not true as in a different episode he has a brief romance with Wendy/

I agree, I think it is more Cartman's gluttony that keeps him focused on the food, not his lack of attention for the girls.

Is it appropriate to have "This episode is currently available for streaming on Hulu" as part of the article? This seems like a commercial advertisement. Openlywhite (talk) 06:10, 19 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Speculation[edit]

“This episode was mainly inspired by Trey Parker's past experience with his ex-fiance, Liane Adamo. The heart break and pain that Stan endures is very similar to the situation of Trey Parker when he found out that his fiance was cheating on him[1]. Interestingly enough, Wendy is a resemblance to Liane Adamo herself.”

I think this may just be speculation. There’s no citation, and In the DVD commentary Matt and Trey said they wanted to do an episode with Raisins, and created the break-up plot just so the characters would have a reason to go there. (To cheer Stan up.) Xargon666 00:41, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I totally agree. The link that was provided tells only that Trey has had a painful break-up, which isn't really so uncommon. Also I couldn't find anything to base the Wendy's supposed resemblance to this girl on. I removed those sentences, because there hasn't been any opposition on this page for over an year. Foul Language[edit]

Is it not possible to describe these episodes without using the foul language? Don't get me wrong, I talk like that with my friends and family, but not in front of children, and having words like "fuck" and "cunt" in an encyclopedia seems crazy. There are school children who use this as a reference. This isn't TV.com or something, it's supposed to be an encyclopedia and it should be written intelligently enough to be able to describe any subject without having to actually use language like that.

I also think it goes in to far too much detail and isn't as good to read as some of the other South Park pages. The "Plot" section should be summarised in to a brief description of the plot, not ramble on, repeating almost every bit of dialogue in the show. There is also lots of other information missing which the other pages have, such as references to the episode by various notable people around the world and how the audience viewed it and so on. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.195.93.44 (talk) 07:45, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I know I'm rather late in replying, but: I totally agree that plots etc. need to be kept as summaries; but, with regard to swearing, Wikipedia is not censored. It Is Me Here t / c 21:59, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia[edit]

Unless someone has any actually interesting trivia to include, I suggest removing the trivia section of this article. I'd do it now, but I'm sure someone would just stick it right back in there. Not one statement in the section is at all worth mentioning. Professor Chaos 06:02, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermore also happens to be a band. If the face indeed is EAP, that's most likely the only source. It doesn't look like any of the album covers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.139.161.106 (talk) 17:02, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Character "Dog Poo" on Trivia[edit]

"This is further reinforced by the following scenes; a child resembling Pig-Pen is seen briefly in the school hall. This child is later revealed as "Dog Poo" in "Professor Chaos"."

A little problem in the precedin quote: episode Professor Chaos is a season six episode, and this episode is from season seven, so the character has had a name already, and wasn't created for this episode, to reinforce the Charlie Brown reference. (Which is there.)Cojrak (talk) 14:12, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia[edit]

Cite the following;

  • In one of the Goth kid's room, there is a poster that says, "Blauhaus" which seems to resemble Bauhaus' Singles: 1979-1983, Volume One album. There is also a "Skippy Puppy" poster in the room an obvious parody of the industrial band Skinny Puppy (the poster being nearly identical to the cover art of their 1984 album Remission), viewable when the mother enters the room is a "Bleeding Frog" poster on the wall that could be a parody of the band Bleeding Through. Next to the "Skippy Puppy" poster, a red poster with a black crow on it is visible with the words "Nothing Matters World Tour" written above the crow similar to the nu-metal Family Values Tour.
  • When Stan joins the Goth Kids, he starts to wear a t-shirt featuring the face of Gothic/Romantic writer Edgar Allan Poe with the word "Nevermore" written above it - a reference to the Poe poem "The Raven" (which is Stan's "Goth name").
  • Lexus saying how the the Raisins girls make their living may or may not be commentary by Parker and Stone on how Hooters girls make their living.
  • A Say Anything homage can be seen when Stan seeks advice from the Goths; the scene is set up like Lloyd's encounter with the guys outside the Gas 'n' Sip. Also, when Stan stands outside Wendy's window holding a boombox over his head as Lloyd did outside Diane's window.
  • In one scene during the montage of Stan grieving about the lost love, he is seen standing on a brick bridge looking into the water below. This resembles a commonly used scenario on Peanuts. This is further reinforced by the following scenes; a child resembling Pig-Pen is seen briefly in the school hall. This child is later revealed as "Dog Poo" in "Professor Chaos". The scene where a depressed Stan is visited by his friends in his bedroom references to the similar scene from "A Boy Named Charlie Brown". Charlie hides in his bedroom for being a failure at the spelling bee.
  • The song playing after Wendy breaks up with Stan is Cinderella's "Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone)." The song in the school scenes, after Jimmy tries to talk to Wendy, is Air Supply's "All Out of Love."
  • Benny's is a play on the real-life diner, Denny's.
  • Stan's goth look is re-created with the South Park series 4 action figure by Mezco.
  • All of the Raisin's girls' names are makes of luxury and sports cars.

Then it can return to the main article. Alastairward (talk) 08:06, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
