Schools template[edit]

Just thought I'd say that I like your modifications to the schools template - I was initally skeptical on the whole template issue because of how US-centric it was, and even after that was sorted I didn't like the the black and grey theme. Your pastel box looks a lot better. Good work. - Drw25 6 July 2005 20:40 (UTC)

Fum![edit]

Hi! I absolutely love the Mannheim Steamroller version of this song. My wife sang a more traditional version in a college vocal ensemble a few years back. I took the liberty of expanding it beyond the initial opening sentence. Merry Christmas! - Lucky 6.9 03:46, 26 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Testudo horsefieldii.jpg[edit]

Hi, This file was vandalized, I believe today. In any case, it appears to have been deleted. I put back the old Russian tortoise image in the Russian tortoise article, but you might want to re-upload the image you'd provided and update the link in the RT article. Thanks Brian 18:39, 4 September 2006 (UTC)btball[reply]

License tagging for Image:Great Wall.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Great Wall.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 21:08, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

Firefox Screenshots[edit]

Okay, this is not really your fault, but, just so you know, it says in the Firefox Discussion page that all screenshots of firefox displaying a web page should be displaying en.wikipedia.org/Main_Page (It looks more professional). Thank you for your understanding. -KingpinE7

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:35, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
