Break out See Also[edit]

The See Also list would work better as a separate section and not part of Monetary Cost.Laundrypowder 18:07, 23 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sources[edit]

Can someone help marry up the long list of sources with the body of the article to knock it into encyclopedic form please. Escaper7 10:34, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

rewrite suggestions[edit]

the first line reads "The area surrounding the World Trade Center became the site of the greatest number of casualties and missing..."

compared to what?

I changed it to "The area surrounding the World Trade Center became the site of the greatest number of casualties and missing, due to a single incident, in the history of the United States" Is that better? The WTC casualties outnumber the Pearl Harbor attack casualties - see Attack on Pearl Harbor Roger (talk) 07:04, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Communications[edit]

There's a lot in the article about the emergency service's communication systems failing but absolutely no mention of the hundreds of volunteer Amateur Radio operators who stepped in and provided a system that worked very well. Someone with better writing skills than me please add to this article. Here are 2 very good sources - http://hometown.aol.com/realhamradio/ this is a first person account of the ham who controlled the communications at "ground zero" and this http://www.arrl.org/FandES/field/WTC.pdf is an article published by the American Radio Relay League. Requested move 29 March 2015[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: To be moved to Rescue and recovery effort after the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center per GregKaye suggestion. It's a very unwieldy looking title, but there seems to be a consensus, and no obvious shorter forms leap out. Note: the page is move requested, so I will request the move at WP:RM/TR. Rescue and recovery effort after the September 11 attacksNew York City rescue and recovery effort after the September 11 attacks – The article is completely about the events undertaken in New York City. I read the title and assumed otherwise, but it is basically just about ground zero activities and the World Trade Centers, not the other locations. I would have normally moved this on my own, but it appears to be locked by an administrator for unknown and unlogged reasons because I checked the log. I like to saw logs! Suggest Rescue and recovery effort after the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center. Small point but some of the rescuers/ recovery effort makers will have come from / been based elsewhere. GregKaye 11:52, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Agrees with Suggestion to move it to Rescue and recovery effort after the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center. New York can be a bit vague, and the attack was confined to the buildings. I like to saw logs! (talk) 04:06, 5 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
