Does anyone mind splitting this article into one article per island, and converting this article to a small table of content. The reason for this is that the wikimap project really requires one article per coordinate... -- Egil 20:55, 10 Mar 2005 (UTC)

The problem is that the articles were split, and were later merged, so I would guess that the answer would be yes, that someone would mind... unless their opinions have changed... Dysprosia 21:35, 10 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Merge was by User:French Tourist, who seems to have vanished from Wikipedia - I'd guess you may as well split the islands into their own articles (with maps &c) and have a brief summary here. Shimgray 15:43, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)
I am definitely in favor of an article spilt. olivier 03:18, Jun 11, 2005 (UTC)
I have moved them off to separate articles, especially as some of the islands were disputed this was necessary -- Astrokey44|talk 03:15, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If this article is dismantled[edit]

===>Option to consider You may want to make a "Scattered Islands in the Indian Ocean" template, throw it on the bottom of the individual articles, and all of the content is linked, so a reader can easily find all of the information in the individual entries easily. Rodrigues[edit]

I am pretty sure Rodrigues is not a SIIO. From the article: "They are collectively administered by the prefect of the département of the Réunion on behalf of the government of France, under the authority of the ministry for oversea possessions." Rodrigues is a very clear dependency of Mauritius. Dysprosia 01:40, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Shouldn't it be capitalised?[edit]

to Scattered Islands in the Indian Ocean, if SIIO is what it really is called ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kransky (talkcontribs) 15:50, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Banc Du Geyser[edit]

Yeah, it's not an island group as a rule (it's a submerged atoll), but, as stated on the article itself, France claims it as part of SIIO, so therefore I will update the piece on it to say that. If there are any objections please let me know and I'll revert it. --Maurice45 (talk) 13:44, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What's the source of "France views Banc Du Geyser as part of Scatter Islands"? According to TAAF official website, there's not a mention of it. --Mistakefinder (talk) 10:40, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
