Assigning someone to the category of "terrorists" seems inherently POV and I doubt this is the consensus view of Nelson Mandela.

Regarding your suggestion, if you wanted to create a new category of Category:Former terrorists, I suppose you could add Nelson Mandela to it, but don't forget Yasser Arafat and maybe Menachem Begin, Jomo Kenyatta, and probably others. Even here though, there is room for endless POV debate. -- Curps 20:49, 6 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the complement on Luis Posada Carriles. I just started a CANF page. Its a little lightweight right now, so please check it out and revise as you see fit. DJ Silverfish 19:36, 18 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Stubs[edit]

Thanks for adding the LaGuardia Commission article. As part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting, I have replaced the generalized {{stub}} tag with {{drug-stub}}. When you create new articles, it would be great if you could use these more specific tags whenever possible. Thanks, and continue contributing to Wikipedia! I also renamed the page (to fix the capitalization) and added some information to it. Russ Blau (talk) 20:20, May 22, 2005 (UTC)

Monsanto[edit]

Hi. I am glad to see you added something not so complimentary about this company. (I assume - I did not look in detail). On Feb 25, "Revision as of 14:47, 25 Feb 2005 Pdn (Talk | contribs) noted delay in setting up award; fixed syntax" I added a comment about how it took Monsanto 33 years to set up the Edgar Monsanto Queeny award for safety:"In 1980, thirty-three years after the accident, which happened during the tenure (1928-1960) of Edgar M. Queeny (1897 - 1968) as chairman, and twelve years after his death," but someone deleted it. I do not want to get into a boomerang or handball contest with whoever took out my remark, but you are welcome to resuscitate any of my comments from version [[1]. Since you contributed in the past to the publications’ lists, I thought that you might be interested in this new project. I’ll be glad if you will continue contributing. Thanks,APH 10:49, 11 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

User contributions link[edit]

Hi, in the lower left menu labeled "toolbox" there is a "User Contributions" link that will show up while on a userpage. This will show you the contributions of that user. I am pretty sure it is on every skin. Just a helpful hint. Cheers. Who?¿? 06:13, 29 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi thanks for the heads up about user contributions. The edit was mostly a joke. I've been friends with Phidauex since third grade. TitaniumDreads 07:36, 29 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, not a problem. I didn't think it was vandalism, but better safe than sorry, and we try to set a good example of not editing others userpages. I do it sometimes too :) But I figured it was just a redundant link anyhoo. Thanks for the note. Who?¿? 07:39, 29 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Hehe.. ooh a chance to vandalize ;) Nah. Yea I really have no problem with it. It was like I said, a better safe than sorry rv. If they have no problem with you adding it, then have at it :) Who?¿? 07:50, 29 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Mania[edit]

Great to see your interest! Were you at the Ives talk last week? We should get together to brainstorm about wikimania, in case it comes to town... and to work out details for a final bid, after the initial field is winnowed down this weekend. +sj + 22:20, 30 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sources for Comprehensive Smoking Education Act[edit]

Hello, good work on Comprehensive Smoking Education Act, and thanks for the contribution. However, you forgot to add any references to the article. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and there is currently a push to encourage editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. From what websites, books, or other places did you learn the information that you added to Comprehensive Smoking Education Act? Would it be possible for you to mention them in the article? You can simply add links, or there are several different citation methods list at WP:CITET. Thanks! Lupin|talk|popups 20:35, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for your reply. The only problem with other people retro-fitting references after the event is that it's a lot easier for the original contributor to list the references (s)he actually used to write the article. Adding references after the event seems the wrong way around to me. Lupin|talk|popups 21:21, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again! I apologize if you think I'm trying to get that article deleted - that's far from my intention. I was simply requesting that you list the sources you've used to create the article, and to make you aware of the need to do so. Since you were the major contributor to the article, you seemed like the natural person to ask. I would like to strongly encourage you to list your sources with your contributions, but as you say, you are of course free to contribute in whatever manner you wish. "Conspiracy theory" title neutrality proposal 2.0 voting has begun[edit]

See here and Wikipedia:Title Neutrality. zen master T 20:26, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your vote. If you could keep an eye on this, there seems to be a highly coordinated effort to stifle the proposal (I may illegitimately be blocked for 3RR). Semi-automated template substitution[edit]

Thanks and Marx.[edit]

Hi: Thanks for the picture compliment. It would be more accurate to say I disagreed with "almost all" of what Marx said because I would indeed agree with the statement "Machinery is knowledge objectified" -- but it just doesn't have the same "upmh" I was looking for. Crashspace for two Icelanders[edit]

Greatings! My name is Friðrik Bragi Dýrfjörð, me and my friend Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason need a crashing space for 7 nights. We are both bureaucrats at the Icelandic Wikipedia and Ævar is a MediaWiki developer so we will probably be attending Hacking Days as well. The question is, can you put up with two weird Icelanders for 7 nights (from 31 July to 7 August)? We are still at early planing, so nothing is certain yet, we will however be at the end of the month I suppose. Is 7 nights to much? --Friðrik Bragi Dýrfjörð 21:22, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

an editor is engaging in a pro-monsanto lobbying effort on the glyphosate page[edit]

hi there! i have made several edits to the glyphosate page (an herbicide made by monsanto)...i have added material supportive of monsanto and their product...i have also added material from greenpeace and their concerns with the product (which they back with scientific material). This editor "Ttguy" repeatedly removes anything that is not pro-monsanto...he first tries to say its not referenced...which it is...he then tries to just remove the references themselves...i have tried to maintain balance on the page yet i am finding it very difficult in the face of a monsanto lobbiest editor...the page has a right to have the product manufacturers facts and references...it also has a right to have the questions and scientific studies and documents that give info that might not be as flattering of the product as the manufacturers description...i am now seeking aid from other editors as he continually removes material from the page that is referenced and this is vandalism, and he is trying to get other editors to gang up on me now...he only edits in a narrow spectrum promoting monsanto products and GM foods...i try and edit in a wide spectrum of issues, i dont even edit the GM food page yet once noted it is being subject to lobbiest editors removing critical material...he has a right to enter info that supports his stance...he has no right to continuously remove the other sides material...he is deliberately removing and erasing all criticisms of various products...this is not good faith editing...i have tried to edit on these issues from a neutral perspective, and for instance i am pro-GE tech when there is a vocal critical lobby that is not silenced, so the technology is truly productive and we avoid damaging incidents...Benjiwolf 16:50, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Expected rate of inflation, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Finngall talk 17:25, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Paul Bonicelli[edit]

In the article, you said Paul Bonicelli was "recently appointed" to some position. Please try to avoid the adverb recently in contexts like this. I read it today, you wrote the article a year and a half ago. That isn't recently to me. Can you please update it and least give a month/year of appointment? Otherwise people will be reading the article 5 years from now and thinking he was just appointed. Thanks. 172.130.4.105 12:30, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I stand and applaud[edit]

I read your idea of Wiki being the answer to everything and I wholeheartedly agree. The more involved, the more successful it can become. Perhaps in the next 50 years... I've done much thinking on the idea but I'm very unsure as to the progress of a structured "wiki government." Are there any papers or ideas as to how it could be implemented, changed, safeguards (or understanding of many lack-therof), etc.? Anyway I just wanted to say that I look forward to reading more of your posts and it's nice to see others who see a true potential for a wiki-based government, among other things. Cheers. The article Benjamin Fulford has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable author

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. A tag has been placed on Paul Bonicelli requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://web.archive.org/web/20081114222813/http://www.usaid.gov/about_usaid/bios/bio_pbonicelli.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay.
