Untitled[edit]

I've rewritten my own mini-bio on the Temporary Page. I apologize, I didn't realize that the information on that page was copywritten. Currently, he works with the islamic republic of Iran. Rohani is going to compose the music of Iran football team song for worldcup 2006(Germany)

Shardad versus Shahrdad?[edit]

I have an album of his and there is no "h". His own website does not spell it with an "h". Requesting clarification/source for the spelling please. Cricket02 15:22, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He is an Iranian (and I am.) Despite the way he is spelling his name (which is merely to let people pronounce his name more easily, I reckon) the correct pronounciation of the name in Iran, is as shahr-dad (with the "h") hence my insist on putting the H back. Unfortunately, I have no access to a legal source (like a copy of his passport, or things like that) to verify if his name is officialy written with an H or not.
All in all, if you think I lack a verifiable source, I am open to shifting back to shardad. But if you think what I'm claiming here is acceptable, I will be grateful to have you supporting the dectation with an H, but of course adding the other spelling in parantheses.

Hi Huji. I assumed when the page was moved to the new spelling, that that was probably the traditional spelling. But then an anon user took the "h" back out so that is why I question which is correct. I'm not sure what to do really. My first concern was that if someone wanted to search for his article that they would use what spelling they are accustomed to seeing (i.e. on his albums and web page) -- but I realize there is a redirect so that really would not matter as they would be directed here anyway so that is good. If there could be a source that "Shahrdad" is indeed the spelling of his birth name, I'm sure that would be better, but for now I don't see reason to change it back to "Shardad" yet, but am open to additional consensus on the subject. Thank you for helping watch this article, he is a brilliant man.  :) Cricket02 02:49, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, all my resources speaking about his birth name are in Farsi (Persian) and do not address the spelling of his name in English. Maybe we can manage to ask himself for a clarification, somehow. :) And yes, he really is. hujiTALK 21:52, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I added to the opening paragraph "also spelled as Shardad" because it is confusing as many publication in English his name is spelled both ways and because including this type of information is standard to Wikipedia articles in 2014. Jooojay (talk) 23:22, 20 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Name of artist and article[edit]

There seems to be some edit warring happening on this article, recently moved page Shahrdad Rohani to Shahrdad Rouhani. Then someone else manually changed all the name references in the body of the article to read "Shahrdad Rouhani" but did not change the article name. We all know that there are multiple spellings... which is the most common in English? Jooojay (talk) 01:59, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Persian garden, you are continuing the name change of the artist in the content within the article (but not the article itself). Can you please discuss this issue here, as this change is conflicting with GTVM92 change of the article name. I don't know which is correct, I don't want this to be a reoccurring issue. Thank you. Jooojay (talk) 23:52, 11 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The artist's website in English is named Shardad Rohani. I am moving the article to this name based on this plus the majority of the citations. If you have a problem with this or another suggestion, let's discuss the name here. Jooojay (talk) 23:48, 27 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Removing the Template for BPL Citation Needed[edit]

Hi, I added three references and did inlign citation. I will not be removing the template (BLP sources|date=April 2007). If you have any issues or questions about this please let me know here, in the next 30 days. Thank you Jooojay (talk) 07:39, 21 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Grammatical error that needs clarification[edit]

The first sentence under the "Musical Career" section reads:

From 1987 until 1991 Mr. Rohani served as the music director and conductor of the he started Conductor
of the Arts (COTA) symphony orchestra in Los Angeles.

The part in italics makes it look like two different sentences that were improperly combined. I don't know much about Rohani besides what it says in the article (I only recently discovered this article through the infobox on Yanni's page), so I'll leave it for someone else to fix. ~Piki (talk) 15:09, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Place of birth[edit]

Citation currently reads 'Rohani was born in Tehran, Iran',[1] if you are going to change the place of birth please add a new citation. Thank you. Jooojay (talk) 05:24, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
