Misplaced Picture[edit]

I believe that the picture of the bush dogs mating is a little out of place in this article. Most other animal pages don't have pictures like this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.30.170.127 (talk) 20:45, 22 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Why vinegar?[edit]

I think it would be great to explain what this animal has to do with vinegar and say when the fossils and the first live animals were discovered. —JerryFriedman 23:42, 11 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I also think it would be great to explain why some common names for this animal contain the word vinegar. Actually, I think it should be mandatory to explain such things. ZFT (talk) 03:34, 11 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Permission to use[edit]

Can I have permission to use this template for my school project?Icelandic Hurricane 01:52, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Of course. That's what Wikipedia is for. Jorge Stolfi 13:37, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dutch Article[edit]

I noticed that the Dutch has more than us! They include the subspecies. And since Dutch is similar enough to English, I think I can write it on this page.Icelandic Hurricane 01:47, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

S. pacivorus article[edit]

Shall I create an article on Speothos pacivorus? If we should, I call making it!Icelandic Hurricane 21:08, 18 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What animal is that? I thought that the Bush ig was the only species of Speothos... Jorge Stolfi 05:30, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, S. pacivorus is an extinct species of Bush Dog. And I've already made an article for it. Icelandic Hurricane 12:47, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Breeding in captivity[edit]

Just saw an episode of Roar where four cubs were born at a UK zoo, from a male who had been hand-reared. Not sure when this was (they have a nasty habit of failing to say when it's a repeat) but this is the episode page at the BBC…on further investigation this episode seems to have been transmitted first in July this year, so fairly recent. Name[edit]

perro de monte ("mountain dog"). In South America, the word "monte" usually means the bush, a bushy, forested zone. Although in correct Spanish "monte" is a single mountain, a "mountain dog" would be called (or translated) perro de montaña or perro montañés. Manfariel (talk) 23:37, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
