This should be formatted like the list of rivers of Europe, so that it's clear which river is tributary to which other river or sea. --Joy [shallot] 20:38, 29 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Many of the names would need disambiguation anyway since they also mean something else. At least this way it's uniform from the start. Also, if you're going to change the names, please fix already existing links to prevent duplicating articles, as well as broken links once the articles are written. I've already tried to create links to those names. Dori | Talk 00:33, Oct 30, 2004 (UTC)
Actually it's better to have a bunch of ambiguous links to non-existent articles. That way, once someone creates the article under the generic name about one meaning, it will be obvious from the links that there is more to it than just one meaning. It can subsequently be disambiguated. --Joy [shallot] 10:03, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)
But that's more work, and it will mean that more links will be missed/broken. Dori | Talk 10:25, Oct 30, 2004 (UTC)
If you look at it that way -- but it's less work in attracting people to work about topics if they can be noticed in e.g. Special:Wantedpages. Indeed it's not uncommon for some anonymous to just scrape on an article and then other users fix it up and split it up without much complaint. --Joy [shallot]
