Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nicholas Sarkozy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nicholas Sarkozy was proposed for deletion. This page is an archive of the discussion about the proposed deletion. This page is no longer live. Further comments should be made on the article's talk page rather than here so that this page is preserved as an historic record. The result of the debate was to merge and redirect.

POV article on Nicolas Sarkozy from the same source as Transnestria. Noone seems to find the content worth merging. Martg76 04:15, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)

  • After wading through the pov, there are enough relevant and factual data points to valuably merge, and a spelling redirect would be harmless enough. Samaritan 05:09, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • merge/redirect as is currently in progress. jni 06:47, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • Again, as at Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Transnestria, there should be no copyright problem. -- Jmabel | Talk 06:55, Dec 17, 2004 (UTC)
  • Merge and redirect. P Ingerson 08:14, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I would recommend considerable caution to whomever would like to do the merging. This article is very laudative and constitutes more or less a pro-Sarkozy political advertisement. No sources are cited for the related events, no objective data is provided, no counter balance is provided. David.Monniaux 10:37, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Have merged the content into "Nicolas Sarkozy", taking out the POV. It was worth doing. I'm no expert in French politics so good if someone could review the result. --Cjnm 12:12, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)
I've given it a go. What you paraphrased contained inaccuracies (for example, on the tax situation) and vague laudative statements (what exactly did Sarkozy do to make France business-friendly? how did he confront France's "powerful" unions? etc.). David.Monniaux 15:49, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Great - thanks.--Cjnm 16:49, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • Agree with merge, and keeping the redirect is probably not a bad idea since it's a likely spelling error. [[User:Livajo|Ливай | ]] 00:34, 18 Dec 2004 (UTC)
