Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

"Allegedly" thinks[edit]
We can "allege" someone thinks something, but they cannot "allegedly" think something when they actually think that way. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 20:18, 21 June 2024 (UTC)

- Yes and no. I am making a different point. We can't always know a person's motives, but we can, rightly or wrongly, allege what they are thinking. But should we?
- That's another consideration. We should not substitute an allegation (a guess) as a means to doubt or imply they actually are not or cannot be thinking something, when they may well be thinking it.
- In this case, since it's simpler and accurate to just say they are thinking that way, why imply doubt about it? I don't see any reason to do that. Does that make any sense? I'm pretty tired, so may not be explaining very well. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 05:57, 22 June 2024 (UTC)
