Supermarine Spitfire[edit]

Loads of great content, important subject, certainly the most iconic British fighter plane. --PopUpPirate 23:35, Apr 19, 2005 (UTC)

You can get rid of the Specifications (variant described) section, since all that information is in the info box. You could also include some info on well known pilots of this spitfire if there are any--nixie 01:16, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Too short - I would like to see more on its tactical uses, and comparisons to other Allied and Axis fighters. Also, a significant part of an article is just a quote (from From: Spitfire - A Test Pilot’s Story - Arrow Books). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 10:45, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)
The first thing I noticed is that there is no mention of Lady Lucy Houston's important contribution to the early project. The page could do with sections about the plane's contribution to the air war over Europe, N. Africa, and elsewhere. (Weren't they withheld from France in 1940?) There appear to be a few syntax issues in the Battle of Britain section. Thanks. — RJH 15:54, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)
