"110 volts peak-to-peak" - surely this should be 110 volts R.M.S.... --Ali@gwc.org.uk 15:33, 17 Jul 2004 (UTC)

What does that mean? — Chameleon My page/My talk 16:24, 17 Jul 2004 (UTC)
Ali: Wondered about this as well. But maybe it's the case indeed.
Chameleon: See alternating current#Mathematics of AC voltages for an explanation of what Ali means. Simon A. 12:13, 19 Jul 2004 (UTC)
see Root_mean_square, basicallly RMS is the average voltage and is the value used when calculating power. It is almost always the value used when quoting AC voltages. --Ali@gwc.org.uk 20:24, 20 Jul 2004 (UTC)

"European 2 prong common household socket (220 volts)" looking at mains power plug you can see there is no such thing as a common european socket! 81.187.43.179 03:05, 4 Aug 2004 (UTC)

I think this just needs renaming as something like North American electrical sockets (providing that Canada and Mexico use the same standards). 81.187.43.179 03:10, 4 Aug 2004 (UTC)
No, it shouldn't be renamed. Non-American content should be added. The trouble is that it is difficult to do so without duplicating the content in my Mains power plug article. Feel free to be bold and do it yourself... I am also tempted to zap this article and make it redirect to the other. — Chameleon Main/Talk/Images 07:08, 4 Aug 2004 (UTC)
