I disagree. While both treaties are occasionally referred to as "Beijing Treaty", they were completely separate otherwise. They covered completely different issues; plus, one is better known as the "Convention of Peking", while the other is called either as "the Treaty of Beijing" or "Beijing Treaty". The only thing common about these treaties is the place where they had been signed.
I would suggest making this page into a disambiguation page, and refer the reader to appropriate articles, keeping the synopses here (there surely is much more to write about these treaties than information currently in the article, wouldn't you agree?).—Ëzhiki (erinaceus europeaus) 21:34, Feb 28, 2005 (UTC)
This is why I want to merge the pages: "The Convention of Peking (18 October 1860), also known as the First Convention of Peking, was a treaty between the Qing Government of China and the British Empire, and between China and France, and China and Russia." The Beijing Treaty was also signed in 1860 and it also refers to the treaty mentioned above signed by China and Russia. The Chinese gave areas to the British in that one, this one, the Russians get areas from the Chinese. I agree that there could be more information that should be added, yet, I still think it should be on one page. Zscout370 21:44, 28 Feb 2005 (UTC)
