Pitched Up Recordings[edit]

Not at all notable --Improv 15:28, 16 Oct 2004 (UTC)

its the best selling american happy hardcore label. at least 1 of the label records has sold 10,000 copies. and not to mention DJ Sunrize (one of the label's artists) has a major label cd, as well as is the #1 hardcore producer in the USA who tours worldwide.... nah not notable at all </sarcasm> Alkivar 16:55, 16 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  • If you say so, but that leaves it where? Let's look at the facts: this "article" just gives the company name and then the website. That is the sort of nothing-but-advertising that makes it a Speedy Delete candidate, so don't get irritated that there is merely a VfD listing. So, we have a label that has sold 10k copies of one of its records. Good. I mean that sincerely. Back in my own day, my band formed its own label with a local used bookstore owner, and we sold 15,000 LP's. That label then went on to do one more record. It sold about 2,000. The point is that independent labels come and go. If this were a real article with all the facts, it would be non-notable. However, it isn't a real article with all the facts. A sub-sub-genre label is pretty iffy. It's an ad. Delete. Geogre 17:43, 16 Oct 2004 (UTC)
I've read the rewrite, and now it's not a speedy delete candidate, but it still looks non-notable to me. Oh, and "hardcore," to me, is Circle Jerks, Dead Kennedys, Fear, Germs, and Husker Du. I have a feeling this "hardcore" is something completely different. Geogre 03:10, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)
common misconception Geogre. Happy Hardcore is a style of Rave Electronica... not Happy Punk. I'm used to people sh*$#ing on my prefered style of music, but there are more than 6 million fans of this music worldwide (most are just embarrased to admit they like it) sorta like boy bands heh.Alkivar 03:32, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete Keep, now has useful content. Was: Delete as it stands now. Might be suitable for an article, but this is not an article. It's just a link to a web page. If even the author is not interested enough to say anything about them, why keep the page? Wolfman 18:34, 16 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Independent labels come and go, and selling 10,000 copies once isn't that notable. Average Earthman 18:58, 16 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. It may be worth an article, but this isn't it. Could be speedied as far as I'm concerned. Tuf-Kat 20:07, Oct 16, 2004 (UTC)

for christs sake people its got more content then HALF of the record labels listed in the LIST OF RECORD LABELS entry. if you want more detail i'll add it tonight. Alkivar 22:35, 16 Oct 2004 (UTC)

D That doesn't make it notable, though. Especially not when the article says merely "a label based in Philadelphia" and nothing more. Chris 23:04, 16 Oct 2004 (UTC)

EXTENSIVELY UPDATEDAlkivar 23:05, 16 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  • Not notable enough to have articles written about any of its major artists (as of this writing). Delete. RickK 23:09, Oct 16, 2004 (UTC)
  • thats true for many styles of music Rick. mentioned by name in the Happy Hardcore article. then again so am I :-D Alkivar 03:34, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • what difference does that make anyway? Sunrize (one of the artists) passes the criteria for a Biography page. "Recording musicians who have sold more than 5,000 albums, CDs, or similar recordings". Alkivar 02:20, 20 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep as the main article stands now, although is the discography of a label appropriate? siroχo 19:52, Oct 17, 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete: promo, wrong side of the line. Wile E. Heresiarch 22:17, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)
