duplicate articles[edit]

Hey, thanks for finding that! You can simply add "{{merge}} [[St Peter Damian]]" to the top of the Peter Damian article, and "{{merge}} [[Peter Damian]]" to the St Peter Damian article. Then go to Wikipedia:Duplicate articles and list them so someone can see that they need to be merged, and eventually someone will merge them.

If you'd rather do it yourself, then you don't have to add merge notices the article. Pick the better name (which in this case would be Peter Damian, since we don't usually put titles in article names), and make that article contain all the important information from the other one. Then change the St Peter Damian article to just say "#Redirect [[Peter Damian]]". That way, both will redirect to the same place.

Comorian franc[edit]

Hello again. If you go to the Comorian franc page and edit it, you'll see the line {{AfricanCurrencies}} where the table would be. What that means is, you can go to the Template:AfricanCurrencies articles to see the code for that table. Then you can edit the table, and it will update all pages that include it. Poetry Chicago[edit]

Thanks for catching that. It was on a list of requested articles that I was going through about three or four months back and I must have either overlooked the Poetry (Chicago) page or not thought to check the "poetry" disambiguation. I've renamed the Poetry (Chicago) article Poetry (magazine) because that is a more natural place for someone to search. Redirects from Poetry Chicago and Poetry (Chicago) are in place. The talk page at Poetry (Chicago) had only one comment, agreeing that it should be at Poetry (magazine). If there are strong reasons why moving it was a mistake, let me know. Sulfur lamps[edit]

Hi. I know you contributed to the article I wrote on sulfur lamps. I'm not very familiar with the technology (I used to just see it at the Air and Space and the DOE building). Someone has lumped sulfur lamps in with inductive lighting, which is described as a fluorescent technology. This seems incorrect to me. The article "sulfur lamp" has been renamed to "inductive lighting". Can you take a look at this as see if it's all correct? Also, can you explain to me what became of this technology? It was billed in the Washington Post as the "technology of the future." I am unable to find an answer why it failed. Thank you. SDC 18:18, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Hmm, well, blowing through 90M$ with no viable commercial product to show for it doesn't help. I think the technology still exists but for various reasons like problems with the microwave generator power supplies and such it never took off. Shame really, it was a very cool idea. I think you are right to doubt the accuracy of lumping the S lamp with "inductive lighting". They are simillar though. Induction lamps do NOT use magnetrons to excite the emitting gas so far as I can tell and S lamps do not use induction from a coil to light. I see alot of things that make no sense in the article and I will flag it for accuracy. Anyway as to S lighting, it's strange and somewhat sad seeing how a technology once seen as THE problem solving technology of the future just sort of slowly peters out, dies and then just fades into history. :-( ....--Deglr6328 04:29, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Atomic orbital[edit]

Hi,
I noticed your addition of a new paragraph to the introduction of Atomic orbital. As the author of much of what was there before, I have to admit that much of what you said is beyond my expertise, but as far as I can understand it, it looks very thorough. However, I would like to point out that you completely disrupted the flow of the article. If we want the article to stand together as a unitary whole, rather than as a collection of disjointed paragraphs, one of two things must be done:

The new material should be integrated into the existing article structure.
The article structure should be radically amended to include the new material.

Nice to meet you Smack, but I'm afraid you made a mistake. I made a small change to that article, but I did not write that paragraph. It looks like it was 131.220.68.177. I made the latest addition to the article. I added the link to electron orbital—I was trying to figure out what the difference between those two topics was. Stubborn redirect[edit]

Well, that is very curious. I don't see any reason why there should still be a link to the redirect page. User:Mddake had a similar situation that seems to have been cleared up. What is the license status? What does the Bank of the Comores allow? Does the bank allow unlimited copying of this image? That would be called counterfeiting in most countries and I don't think I'm too forward in suggesting that you neither have the copyright nor permission from the bank to upload this photo to Wikipedia. Streetcar article[edit]

First of all, re: the modern light-rail line in Anacostia, I think that's a better fit in the Washington Metro article, since I consider the Washington streetcars article as an article about the historic streetcars, with 1973 being a cutoff year in that regard, being when WMATA acquired all the assets of the former streetcar operator. Thus anything prior to 1973 should go with the streetcar article, and anything beyond that should go with Metro.

As for how likely Anacostia's streetcar line is to be built, I can't say, but I'd guess that the test project in Anacostia will probably be completed. Beyond that will depend on the success of the Anacostia line, though I know quite a few people that are hoping that it bombs in favor of expanding the existing Metrorail network. But we'll see.

As for interurbans, I think it would be appropriate to add it to the streetcar article, at least at first. If it gets really big, then we might want to spin it off into a separate article. I'm personally a big advocate of forking vs. creating from scratch.

Regarding a streetcar map, I think making our own would probably be easiest. If we can find a good street map of Washington that's in the public domain (and one probably does exist), then we can just place the streetcar routes on top of it. Where to go, I'm not sure. I'll have to think about it.

As for Metro maps, I've only developed the one map that's on the Washington Metro article, and that took me six hours to do, in a single marathon session.

The Bible Unearthed[edit]

Thanks for you message, I have no problem withe the changing the title. Indeed it's a fascinating book, I am also very interested in Biblical and Abrahamic religions aspects along with commons beliefs and dogmas in those religions. On a moral note I think that it's a way to bring people together, I believe that this basically the same fate with different expressions because of geography, historical and poltical circumstances. I painstakingly constructed a disambiguation page at Woodward (which used to redirect to Bob Woodward) and then realized you had already created Woodward (disambiguation). I just added three that you found that I hadn't yet come across. I think the page is now complete (except people with the middle name Woodward, which I'm not bothering with). The convention with surnames seems to be to not have "(disambiguation)" in the title. Witness: Smith, Jones, Tucker, Williams; but not: Smith (disambiguation), Jones (disambiguation), Tucker (disambiguation), Williams (disambiguation). User:SADC[edit]

Actually this user was one of a series of accounts that obviously belonged to the same person. Each of them got blocked after one edit, which was vandalism of Curps' talk page by blanking it with the words "SUPER COOL". Some of them happened to resemble the names of other Wikipedians, and were labeled as such. This particular case (SADC resembling SDC) may or may not have been intentional, but I labeled it as such, given the circumstances.
