Copyright status of image

Can I just check the copyright status of the image used at Knaggs? The image, I believe, comes from the Surname Atlas published by Archer Software; the CD Rom itself clearly states on the back "© Archer Software, 2003", and the census information they use is Crown Copyright and therefore not fair use. Do you know what the copyright status is for the image? I'm noit trying to make your ewxperience hard at wikipedia, I'm just trying to make sure wikipedia doesn't get sued. -- Graham ☺ | Talk 02:48, 1 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Knaggs, VfD

VfD is part of the deletion policy, and you can read details there. Basically at this point an admin who has not voted on the article will review the discussion and decide whether it should be deleted. Since there are 6 keep votes, and 4ish delete votes, there's no danger of deletion (it requires a "rough consensus" usually interpreted to be ~2/3 majority to delete). Sometimes the review process lags a bit, since VfD is such a huge process, so eventually an admin will get to it, review it, archive the discussion, and remove the VfD notice from the page. If it doesn't happen within a few more days, you could probably ask an administrator if they could do it, since its a pretty straightforward keep. Adam Margolin

I disagree that the above article is a speedy deletion candidate. Unless I'm mistaken, nowhere on the CSD page does it say that notability can be a reason for speedy deletion. TBH, I don't know anything about this person. Glancing quickly, I would probably say that he is notable, since so many books have been published under his name. Stamp images

Hi, some great stamp pics you're uploading! BTW, after some agonizing, I decided I went the wrong way in scanning stamps on white background; although the effect of a physical stamp on the page next to the text is appealing, thin black frame seems to be the universal standard, and the perfs become invisible if the paper is very white. International style

Hello Knaggs, Yes, I got it from E.H. Gombrichs' The story of Art , which is fairly authoritative. It's mentioned just before the Wilton Diptych if you've a copy to hand. Your right there already is a link, I'll through what I have in the "International style (art)" into "International Gothic" . I've seen the "International style" used to refer to "International Gothic" enough times though, I reckon, to justify the reference on the Disambiguation for "international style". I'll put "International style (art)" as a redirect. I'm new to wikipedia, so is what I've suggested appropriate?

Article Licensing

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:
