Al Jazeerah[edit]

An orphaned disambiguation page. 159.37.7.48 20:36, 6 Dec 2004 (UTC)

• Keep. Where is the speedy un-VfD? This has grown tiresome. GRider\talk 22:10, 6 Dec 2004 (UTC)
• Relax, please. The issue is whether or not the Al Jazeerah Information Center needs to be disambiguated? I'd say that it doesn't. I'd rather see this redirect straight to the TV channel, but there may be better reasons for the dab than I know. If this was just a taunt listing, then the user's IP can be held to account. • Keep I think the page is certainly needed, because the TV station is transcribed as Al Jazeera, not Al Jazeerah,a nd the information center is with "h" at the end. So if it would auto relink to TV station, it would be much harder to find the information center article and maybe some of those who would want to find it would believe that there is no such article. • Keep. It may be orphaned, but I can easily imagine someone looking for either of the articles linked and typing "Al Jazeerah" in the search box, and this disambiguation page clears up the distinction between the two different organizations. I see no reason to delete this. 力伟| 03:19, 7 Dec 2004 (UTC)
• Keep it. —RaD Man (talk) 04:32, 7 Dec 2004 (UTC)

• Keep with extreme prejudice. Disambigation pages are supposed to be orphans. sjorford 10:17, 8 Dec 2004 (UTC)
• As the page's creator, I argue keep on the following grounds: While Al Jazeera TV is by far the more notable of the two in theory, Al-Jazeerah Information Center has a very similar URL and name, and has as a result frequently been quoted by a variety of people who should know better as if it were the TV station. Such quotes generally maintain the spelling difference - that is, spell it with an H - and thus someone looking for information on the source for an "Al-Jazeerah" cite is likely to end up at this disambig page. - Mustafaa 12:36, 8 Dec 2004 (UTC)
• Keep. Easy mistake to type Al Jazeerah rather than Al Jazeera. BMWman
• Keep according to the Rand McNally World Guide (selected and adapted from the Columbia Lipincott Gazatteer of the World)'Al Jazira' is the northern section of the riparian plain, corresponding to the ancient Assyria so there are definitely alternate spellings and alternate meanings to the words. • Extreme Keep! Disambig pages are supposed to be orphaned! It says so in the disambig notice. Disambig pages are meant to aid text searching. --L33tminion | (talk) 21:00, Dec 11, 2004 (UTC)
