TBJ death[edit]

I hear from a die-hard fan that Briscoe's death was never mentioned in Trial By Jury. I took out the plainly outdated future-tense reference to this mention, but I still find this surprising. Can someone confirm that his death went unremarked? LizardWizard 05:25, May 5, 2005 (UTC)

Yes. I read in TV Guide that they would mention it, but they never did. There 's a tiny bit about it on the Trial By Jury page about it

In the original L&O, the circumstances which led Det. Green to leave involved Green's gambling problem in "Burn Card" had Green mentioning his distress over Briscoe's death. Nobuyuki (talk) 20:10, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Past tense[edit]

I'm pretty sure you're supposed to avoid using past tense phrases on Wikipedia ("he was" vs. "he is" in the leading line for example). Unless there's objections, I might try to clean up the language used. --Locke Cole ^{(talk) (e-mail)} 04:26, 20 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Needs cleanup[edit]

Article should reference specific episodes[edit]

The article should reference specific episodes of Law & Order and the air dates (all easy to obtain from various reliable sources) to back up what's being said about the character, much more thorough profiles of Lennie Briscoe already exist on the Internet

It's certainly not perfect but it would give one the idea about citing an episode to support statements about the character.

Hellman Commission/"Corruption"[edit]

The article should include information from the 7th season episode Corruption in which Lennie is accused of participating in a drug theft from the police evidence room. The accusation would come back to haunt Lennie in later episodes, just as Jack McCoy's brush with the disciplinary committee and battles with Judge Feldman made it easy for defense attorneys to cast him as corrupt. Alcoholism[edit]

The article says that Lenny fell off the wagon with disastrous results, and mentions the death of an ADA. To me at least, that implies that he was the drunk driver responsible. Is that the case, or should this maybe be reworded? Darquis 21:28, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, but she was driving him home from the bar at the time. "In 1996, Briscoe fell off the wagon with disastrous results; ADA Claire Kincaid was struck and killed by a drunk driver while driving him home from a bar." The text seems pretty clear to me, although I'm not sure the "disastrous results" thing is really accurate. I think it's mentioned in the episode that she was at the bar to pick up McCoy, who had already left, so she would've been driving to and from the bar regardless of Briscoe's drinking. --Msgohan 02:57, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Death?[edit]

Was there ever any onscreen reference to his being dead? I don't remember ever seeing any - and though it may have been planned, I don't think we can wikissume that he is dead from that unless mentioned in canon on a L&O show

They have Chris Noth's character mention his former partner by the name of Lennie being dead in the season finale of Criminal Intent. I think it's safe to assume--69.118.235.97 01:22, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

first appearance[edit]

He only appeared once in season two as a defense attorney.

Date of Birth[edit]

In the episode 'Virus', which is cited as the source for his DOB, a computer technician is trying to demonstrate how anyone born on a date with the number 2 in it will trigger a computer virus to modify their blood sugar levels. January 2nd would be the first date with a 2 in 1940, so it's quite possible that this is not his actual DOB, but instead was just a made up number to demonstrate the effect of the virus on the software. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.186.14.6 (talk) 17:39, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. There's nothing to suggest this is his actual date of birth. I'm removing it.
