The reference to the persons after whom the airport is named. But you never mention John A. Macdonald without his title (Sir). Since both namesakes were knights, the title is pluralized.

Delta Airlines

What's the story with Delta Airlines reverting in and out of the article? Dpm64 10:48, 4 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I really don't know, but can you confirm it either way? Burgundavia 11:22, Mar 4, 2005 (UTC)

I put it in when I saw a listing for a Delta flight on the airport's homepage departure schedule (with a flight from Ottawa to Delta's hub in Atlanta), then I took it out again when I noticed that there's already a listing for Delta Connection - actually Atlantic Southeast Airlines dba Delta Connection - in this article. Since I don't live in Ottawa and couldn't be sure from the airport site if it was Delta Connection or Delta flying there, I then took out my added reference to Delta and kept it as Delta Connection. Edit: From a search on Delta's website it looks like the non-stop from Ottawa to Atlanta is indeed operated by Atlantic Southeast Airlines serving as Delta Connection, not Delta itself, so I'm leaving article as is/as it had been. Moncrief 13:37, Mar 4, 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for clearing that up (and for checking). Dpm64 20:55, 4 Mar 2005 (UTC)

The policy of Wikiproject Airports is the airports offical name in English. This is also the one that most people know it as. Burgundavia 04:52, Mar 26, 2005 (UTC)

In the Canada Flight Supplement, published by Nav Canada (the official source of Canadian air navigation data), the name is listed as "OTTAWA/MACDONALD-CARTIER INTL" (p.B564 of the 25 November 2004 edition). In the Canada Air Pilot (instrument approach plates), the name is also listed as "OTTAWA/MACDONALD-CARTIER INTL" at least 38 times over 19 different pages. Do you have an official Transport Canada or Nav Canada source that overrides these? Note that the Wikipedia articles for Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport and Montreal-Mirabel International Airport follow almost the official usage, so there are strong Wikipedia precedents for using the official naming scheme. but Nav Canada is not the owner. The owner is the Ottawa Airport Authority. What do they call it? Burgundavia 18:41, Mar 26, 2005 (UTC)

The owner's full legal name is the "Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport Authority"; the title of their web site is "Ottawa International Airport". Their proper name is registered with Transport Canada and published by Nav Canada, just like my proper name is registered with the Province of Ontario and published on my birth certificate. If I want to change it, I have to go to the government to do so. Dpm64 20:23, 26 Mar 2005 (UTC)
