I don't remember Testament ever being bigger or more important than Slayer.

Flatly incorrect[edit]

This page asserts that somehow Testament "held Slayer's place" in the Big Four of Thrash before they (Slayer) broke out with the success of Reign in Blood (1986). First of all, in 1986, Testament did not exist except under their earlier moniker, Legacy. Second, Legacy had released no albums, only demos, at that point. Slayer already was a successful, world-touring group by the time they had released the "Haunting the Chapel" EP in 1984.
