What is the problem here? Fennic is also commonly used to refer to the animal (type of fox). Why can't it also appear under this name? Why reverted? Is it preferable for this disambiguation appear on the "Finnic" page instead after user is redirected? For the record, I was looking for information on Fennics, and had to go to external sources to eventually find the "Fennec" article. (P.S. It is alternate of Fennec, not misspelling.) I looked in a couple of dictionaries, and they don't contain this alternate selling. If you present such a dictionary, then your change is 100% valid. If it is a common misspelling, wikipedia will be doing bad job encouraging people to use it.
