I've added to your article on the LMS-USA. Please take a look and see if it seems okay. I didn't see anywhere on the LMS-USA website that said whether they have female ministers, but you've commented in the past that they do. If so, this should probably go in the article, since that would make them the only U.S. Lutheran body besides the ELCA that does. Also, should a note of the LMS-USA split go onto the American Association of Lutheran Churches page? Thanks. Ropcat 03:32, 21 Mar 2005 (UTC)

  • I wasn't aware that LMS-USA was a split from the AALC, so I don't want to write about that much until I can find some more information. The issue of women's ordination is left to each congregation, if I understand LMS-USA polity correctly. Thanks for the addition. EdwinHJ | Talk 16:37, 21 Mar 2005 (UTC)

No problem. By the way, there's some stuff about the split on the LMS-USA website http://www.lmsusa.org/index.htm under "Synod Introduction" and then "A Brief History of the LMS-USA." Cheers. Ropcat 00:41, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Actually all the information in the paragraph you've just excised is from Robert Dallek's biography of Lyndon Johnson. If you'd care to put it back that would be very sweet. --Mr impossible 01:01, 6 Mar 2005 (UTC)

  • The information you talk about is disputed and not supported by many biographers of HHH himself. It is certainly not NPOV. EdwinHJ | Talk 18:10, 10 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Why did you put a cleanup message in this article? It may not be perfect, but it seems in pretty good shape and generally conforms to Wikipedia style. --Polynova 07:07, Feb 27, 2005 (UTC)

  • The tense of the article varies throughout. Sections of the article written while the team was based in Canada need to be reworked for tense and interal coherence. EdwinHJ | Talk 07:13, 27 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Who are you people and why do you send me meessages??!! STOPP

Why the move? Nelson Ricardo 00:46, Feb 28, 2005 (UTC)

  • To match the stylings of other states and emphasize that the term "New York State" is unofficial and could be confused with a university. The "state of New York" is unambiguous. EdwinHJ | Talk 01:17, 28 Feb 2005 (UTC)
    • I see now that this idea is not one that is popular, and I understand those reasons and now agree. EdwinHJ | Talk 20:53, 11 Mar 2005 (UTC)

United States presidential line of succession[edit]

You just added the {{cleanup}} template to United States presidential line of succession, with the edit summary that "CABINET OFFICERS NEED TO BE UPDATED FOR 2005". Let's go through the my issues with this action:

  1. As far as I can tell, the list of cabinet officers is actually up to date. This page has seen quite a lot of editing in the past couple of months with the whole Cabinet reshuffle.
  2. The cleanup template requires that the person using it add an entry to Wikipedia:Cleanup so that the community can effectively address the problem. I only know about the cleanup reason because this page happens to be on my watchlist; your average user would have no idea why the {{cleanup}} template has been applied here.
  3. Typing in all caps is generally considered to be poor etiquette, as it is the online equivalent of shouting.

For reasons 1 and 2 above, I have removed the {{cleanup}} template. — DLJessup 19:23, 10 Mar 2005 (UTC)

  • I hadn't yet had the chance to add it to the "cleanup" page before you deleted the template. Upon further revie, the cabinet officers had been updated. That was my error. EdwinHJ | Talk 20:53, 11 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Nomination for admin.[edit]

Accept your nomination here. I'll take your question as to whether I would still nominate you as evidence that it is ok to do so. Please go to the link above, accept the renomination and answer the 'questions for candidates'. Good luck. Pedant 22:21, 2005 Mar 11 (UTC)

Query[edit]

You asked "Is there a reason you didn't respond to my earlier question?" I don't remember you asking me a question. What was it? – Quadell (talk) (sleuth) 11:18, Apr 4, 2005 (UTC)

Jake Gyllenhaal Picture[edit]

I don't know how to get info on that pic. I just searched and found it on google. How do I find out if it's available for use??? Bremen 05:57, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Dem-NPL article[edit]

Why did you move North Dakota Democratic-NPL Party without posting a comment first? The banner on the Dem-NPL site may omit the hyphen, but it is there everywhere else. --Alexwcovington (talk) 07:16, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)

  • It is such a minor move, I didn't believe that it was a big deal. You're right that I should have placed a note before doing it, even if it's not technically required. The hyphen is omitted in several North Dakota newspapers now as well as the Dem NPL webpage, so I believed that it was an appropriate change. EdwinHJ | Talk 19:44, 7 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Looking at their webpage it seems that they still use the hypen in a lot of their articles. I don't care if the hypen is there or not, but if it is not going to be there please edit the article to remove it from the body of the article Smith03 16:48, 16 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Minnesota images[edit]

I found out that Minnesota government images are in fact not public domain (so secondarily I need to delete the template/image tag Template:PD-MNGov under which e.g. Image:Rudy_perpich.gif, Image:Mike_Hatch.jpg are placed.) If you can find another image tag under which to put this, it would help a lot - thanks! Schissel : bowl listen 03:47, Apr 14, 2005 (UTC)

I put it on the talk page. I will put here again for you .It is the same party. Please don't un merge a page without discussion thanks Smith03 16:42, 16 Apr 2005 (UTC)

A humble request[edit]

I am asking if you will please remove the section in your userpage that implies that I wish to work as a prostitute/political consultant. Thanks MicahMN | Talk 22:07, 17 Apr 2005 (UTC)

  • A political consultant is a type of prostitute in that they sell themselves for money without regard to moral correctness. I will keep it on my user page as it is my opinion. EdwinHJ | Talk 22:12, 17 Apr 2005 (UTC)
