BAE Systems

Regarding your edit summary, "BAE SYSTEMS should only be capitalised for titles and headers. See www.baesystems.com/identit...., I was the one who added a summary of that to Talk:BAE SYSTEMS. As such I know that that reference says that BAE SYSTEMS is the only acceptable form for titles and headers but is interchangeable with BAE Systems in body text. Mark 20:17, 5 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Ruzyne International Airport categories

Welcome. For categories, this page is already in the transportation category via, the airports one. Wikipedia policy is to avoid listing a page in a category, when it is already in a child category. MyTravel

I noticed you've expanded the article which dealt only with MyTravel Airways to include the complete group. I thing this would be better done as two articles - one for the group, and another for the airline? As it stands now the article has much less focus on the airline compared to before. Do you wish to make this split, or will I? If you leave it to me can I just ask that you stop doing the link replacement, thanks/wangi 21:58, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

First among Newcastles

From what I can see, there are two candidates for the status of "the" Newcastle.

• Newcastle, New South Wales is Australia's seventh-largest city. It has a population of 505,369 in its own right and is called Newcastle.
• Newcastle upon Tyne is England's 20th-largest city. It has a population of 269,500 - although this rises to 799,000 if you add in three adjacent boroughs with different names. Its name isn't Newcastle, it's Newcastle upon Tyne.

Assuming that it's down to these cities, I'd say that Newcastle, New South Wales is the better candidate for being the redirect from "Newcastle" - mainly because its called Newcastle. So you know, I'm not from Newcastle. Joestella 01:17, 23 December 2005 (UTC)

BAE image request

Hi, thanks for the information. Do you have any idea what the reason is? I can understand how BAE can be nervous of cameras around actual equipment (e.g. the ban on cameras and non-company mobile phones at the party in the Astute assembly area) but what's wrong with an image of the company's HQ? I mean MI6 occupy one of the most distinctive buildings in London and allow feature films to be shot around it without compromising the secrecy of that organisation. Anyway, thanks again! Hebburn Article

Thanks for the message regarding my contributions to the article on Hebburn, my home town. You say that some of the additions are copyright and should be re-written - can you tell me where the article is so I can get it back?

thanks for your prompt reply.

I used one of the sources used by Hebburn.org i.e. "The History of Hebburn 1894-1994" and "Dear Old Hebburn" by Alf Pawsey as well as "The History of Hebburn" by Mick Knowles, which I thought were both credited correctly.

However, the above authors both used the South Tyneside Libraries historical information, some of which appears verbatim in Mr Knowles' and Mr Pawseys books. I too have access to the base info and am now in a quandry as to progress any meaningful history. I can tinker with the wording, but there are only so many ways to present an historical record. I'd be very grateful if you could square the circle of 'no original research' and 'no copyrighted material'.

Huh? You made a single edit from one form of English to another. Please actually make useful edits in the future. The only time this sort of edit should be made is when the language is predominantly in one form of English or the other, and the edit allows it to conform. I suspect that it has something to do with the way the browsers render the data. The problem is that we should not be changing pages based on how something appears in a browser. If we do that, then everyone will be changing the locations every day. I'm not sure that there is a perfect solution. I know this issue has come up on several pages over the size of images. With all of the browsers and resolutions for display there so many variables. Vegaswikian 23:46, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

MyTravel

Why have you modified the MyTravel page to remove factual info re their in-flight magazine and moved around the images? I believe the prior page layout was much better! The text was amended previously so that it would conform to the guidelines on what Wikipedia is not and on notability (i.e. that not everything which is factual should be included in Wikipedia). The image layout was changed to conform to the Wikipedia is not for advertising guidelines. Please refer to the discussions on the Talk:MyTravel Airways page for further information. I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Newcastle Student Radio, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Newcastle Student Radio. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Central Station Metro station

Hi.

You've changed the name of this article and a number of links to it. The Metro station is separate to the adjacent National Rail station and its official name is Central Station and not Central.

This is separate to the name discussion taking place on the National Rail station's talk page.

That's obviously an error which was introduced following a recent timetable change. Click the link on that page to the PDF version of the timetable, or look at the links to suggested walks on the right hand side. I disagree. All recent press releases and such released by Nexus refer to the station simply as Central. In any event, I won't be editing the page any further, nor do I feel it's a particularly good use of people's time to debate the extra "station" in the name.
