Democratic Fine-tuning[edit]

Democratic Finetuning is an application of moral graphs and constitutional AI. Currently only being applied by OpenAI. The idea is that if more people understand this application of moral graphs they will be able to apply it in their own projects. This is not a promotion of a product. This is the promotion of a scientific method which does not belong to one company.

(talk page watcher) Promotion is promotion though, and it is not what this platform is for. Articles that seek to promote anything - be that an idea, a genre of music, a type of therapeutic massage, whatever - need to be rewritten, or deleted. The draft you've written does indeed look highly promotional - are you connected in some way with the Meaning Alignment Institute? Girth Summit (blether) 12:31, 14 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Girth Summit. ∞∞∞∞∞, the key word is "promotion", which you state above you are doing, doesn't have to be a product, You can promote ideas, like communism, or democratic fine tuning. Your text was an almost completely unreferenced opinion piece with a promotional tone, not an encyclopaedia article. Also, please read conflict of interest and note that any COI must be declared, and that creating the same stuff under a different title to evade scrutiny won't end well Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:36, 14 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have no connection with the Meaning Alignment Institute. Perhaps promote is not the right word as nothing is being sold. I am simply trying to document this application of moral graphs in the hopes that people can educate themselves on it. comment by ∞∞∞∞∞ (talkcontribs) 11:33, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I made a draft page to make corrections and make it more Wikipedia worthy. I was under the impression that as a draft it would be scrutinized once submitted for review. comment by ∞∞∞∞∞ (talkcontribs) 11:36, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not connected to the Meaning Alignment Institute, just interested in the topic comment by ∞∞∞∞∞ (talkcontribs) 11:38, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
∞∞∞∞∞ even if you have no COI, what you posted was highly promotional, gave no indication of notability and had no references. The draft was identical except that it had three supposed references, none of which was a reputable independent third-party source. It's true that drafts have some protection, particularly with regard to references, but you can't expect a different outcome when you post the same text. Since you have no COI, I suggest that you leave this and move on, Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:26, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ImAllexx[edit]

Hey! My page on Alex Elmsie was deleted as self-written and advertising. I am not Alex Elmsie and created the page for a notable figure currently in the press (ImAllexx is hugely popular internet personality with over 2 million subscribers). I have no association. I used several references from articles but the deletion cites only YouTube was used. Thanks! Romulon5 (talk) 15:43, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Romulon5, I've seen this message, but I won't have time to reply until tomorrow Jimfbleak - talk to me? 18:14, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Heading[edit]

Hi Jim, I created the plant page for lepidium phelbopetalum for a University assignment, I hadn't finished it and was still collecting data and editing the page. Now you've deleted it, I've lost everything I was working on. Is there any way you ca restore that please? Thanks. Jordan. Jordan Brooker (talk) 05:18, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Jordan Brooker, the page Lepidium phlebopetalum exists, as you know since you created it. The draft was deleted as a copyright violation, which we can't host here Jimfbleak - talk to me? 10:25, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

SPI - Help![edit]

Is it possible to check if the deleted version of Draft:Sandip Sinharay is similar to this or this version? Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 19:17, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Jeraxmoira🐉, not enough to be sure of SP, but I've deleted both as obvious promo anyway Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:58, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Adam Gazzaley[edit]

Hi Jim,

It seems you deleted an article - Adam Gazzaley - which I originally posted many years ago. This article was written in a neutral tone, and includes many independent citations. It is of a notable individual who is a Distinguished Professor at a major university (UCSF), which fits wikipedia criteria of notability* 1. “The person has held a distinguished professor appointment at a major institution of higher education and research, a named chair appointment that indicates a comparable level of achievement, or an equivalent position in countries where named chairs are uncommon.”, and is a national award winner 2. “The person has received a highly prestigious academic award or honor at a national or international level.” (E.g, 2020 Global Gaming Citizen Honor, 2015 Society for Neuroscience – Science Educator Award). 3. “The person has had a substantial impact outside academia in their academic capacity.” He is noted as one of the prominent pioneers of the field of digital therapeutics, and is the inventor of the only video game approved by the FDA as a clinical treatment. All of these have independent sources cited.

Please advise me as to what changes need to made to undelete this article?

Thanks Sneakypeach (talk) 22:55, 19 June 2024 (UTC)sneakypeach[reply]

Sneakypeach I've had another look, and it's probably not bad enough for G11, so I've restored. The main problems is that the references are mainly not WP:RS, including his own papers, YouTube and the like. Also, the claim that an article was cover story in Nature is sourced to his own article, which doesn't confirm that claim. I've removed the most inappropriate self-refs Jimfbleak - talk to me? 08:17, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the consideration and restoration, Jim. It is appreciated. I did want to note that the references to research findings were not self-postings by Adam Gazzaley (e.g., blog or white paper), but were links to peer-reviewed publications by independent journals, which I thought would be the most reliable source and ground truth. But I respect that you are the expert here, and I defer to your perspective. In the future, all inclusions of research findings will include both links to descriptions by other sources, as well as the primary published articles. I am happy to work with you to make sure I am meeting the standards for Reliable sources. Sneakypeach (talk) 15:00, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sneakypeach, the problem is that as it stands we basically have "Bloggs did X", source: Bloggs paper about X, which doesn't help with notability, since he can't make himself notable. What we need is "Bloggs did X", source:an independent, reputable source saying he did X and why it mattered. Publications should be listed under a Publications heading without any reference Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:07, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
gotcha! very helpful. Sneakypeach (talk) 16:50, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted my page - The WIT Network[edit]

Hi Jim,

I was trying to create my first article. I am reviewing how to do this as I work on the article itself. I meant to save it in draft mode, but I must have clicked something that said it was ready for review. I know it was not ready and I was just doing more research on the topic to prepare my material.

Please - are you able to restore it in draft mode so I can continue working the content until I feel it is ready? I will also take the advice to use the article wizard. I want to be a good contributor to the community and would appreciate your kind support.

Why was my draft page deleted?[edit]

I had a draft for my company BlazeSoft. I had made some changes and then published it, but my draft was deleted by you. I’m not sure why that happened thank you. 103.72.212.52 (talk) 09:18, 21 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It was blatant spam, littered with spam links, largely sourced to your own company and junk like Crunchbase. It's clear that you are the latest in a long line of single purpose COI accounts posting spam for the company, so I'm blocking this one too Jimfbleak - talk to me? 10:06, 21 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Why was an advertising template warning added?[edit]

Hello Jimfbleak - thank you for the feedback on my edits to the page 'House of European History'. I am new to wikipedia, and would like to contribute more regularly. I am based in Brussels and passionate about European history, as a way of building bridges between people from different countries in the continent. I am highlighting free resources and offers for tourists, as well as famous people in European affairs. I was editing the page for the "House of European History", however you've indicated that my edits were like advertising, and thus a template with a warning now appears over the page. Please could you explain specifically what changes I made were problematic? Also, I would like to upload an updated logo for this page, but cannot seem to do it with my account - can you help with this? The previous logo is out of date. Kind regards Liam Jays (talk) 11:47, 21 June 2024 (UTC) Liam Jays (talk) 11:19, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Liam Jays I'm not sure what you mean. I've never edited that page, and [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=House_of_European_History&diff=prev&oldid=1212349612 this tag was added by Mean as custard
My query was solely in regard to whether you have a COI that you need to declare. Your response on your talk page doesn't really answer that

Speedy deletion nomination of Most of All (Armenian TV program)[edit]

Hello Jimfbleak,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Most of All (Armenian TV program) for deletion, because it's a redirect from an article title to a namespace that's not for articles.

If you don't want Most of All (Armenian TV program) to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
